Brief Episode Of Revs Dropping On Acceleration

so i'm driving along yesterday.. sitting at about 40km/h as there is some traffic and i go to slowly accelerate...

the revs suddenly drop

so, i tap the accelerator and they drop again...

funny thin isthat when i get off the accelerator, the revs rise.

Hapened for about 3 or 4 sec, then went back to normal

so i'm driving along about 10mins later, almost home, and the revs start to jump between 1000 and 2000rpm when i am stopped at the lights. i have to stomp on the brake to hold the car still..

then i again have the same problem with the revs dropping

I am thinking this is either a dirty AFM or an AFM that's on its way out...

does anyone have some advice as to the problem?

sounds lilke idle hunt, try an ecu reset?

WAZ, iv had this problem for 6 months. let me know if u find out.

my other guess is autobox, something is on the way out or has failed, like a solenoid or something. get an auto box place dude to drive the car around the block, those guys pick any auto problems almost straight away

it revs funny in neutral too, so i'm guessing not an automatic problem

will try an ECU reset and AFM celan tomorrow and psot the results

would appreciate some more suggestions in the mean time though

How is an ECU reset performed?

I had this problem, I cleaned my AFMs and replaced my sparks and I haven't noticed it since.
