No one
hey all got a question for you skyline gurus (suprise!) with the exhaust i got with the car i the previous owners welded the restrictor into place, theres a bolt underneath but all it does is freespin the engine drives ok at low revs but it sort of dies or lacks power at high revs does anyone know what exhaust it is? i asked a guy from a exhaust shop and he said to just cut the restrictor out is it just as easy as that? ps it has the jasma plate on it aswell thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112185-is-my-baby-choking/ Share on other sites
Craved
do you really like that tip? cos you could just buy another one to replace it. either that, drill a hole in it. then hack it out with a reciprical saw (motorised hacksaw) up to you, looks wise id get a new one personally Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112185-is-my-baby-choking/#findComment-2068087 Share on other sites
Al
Those restrictors are very common on various makes of Japan exhaust systems. Sounds like the previous owner got done with epa and decided to comply and lessen the db levels. Unfortunately, it really restricts mid to high rev performance. The solution is as easy as cutting the welds off and removing the restrictor, but the db level will increase dramatically.
