Yeah mine was too, so i have a NIZMO stagea then

Suckers, I can actually claim to have had NIZMO as number plates..

..but Ernie wouldnt sell them to me with the car. So I kept the old rego label just for memories sake.

If you were to post up some pictures of the custom Autech Stagea you would get a heap of considered opinions on whether it was worth buying :)

ok when i get some information on the car i will deintely post the pics on this thred hopefully next week

so i can get nizmo parts to mod the car and will be a nismo stagea? I didnt know there was nismo oz.

Guys will it be worth it to pay for an 2001 autech custom made with a sunroof for 50k? Done just under 200km on speedo or just get a high mileage one for abt 40k?

just remeber with most imports that you cant trust the k's on the odo they could be flashed and if the car is in really good condition then most people would be hard pressed to tell if the k's are genuine.

I'm pretty sure mine are genuine. i had 97,000 when i bought it and now i've got over 160,000km on it. it drives fine still, not had major issues (alternator died) and she goes quicker than ever.

Ok wat did you mod your card with? Also guys what do you guys think of a mod thats most worth it. (bang for your buck). Least money most Hp (other than Nos0

Can somebody trll me will a blow off vavle increase engine performance?

bang for buck on a 260rs

- exhaust

- new turbos

- power fc

That will cost about $5,000 and twill be a quick car.

BOV's do nothing to performance

Ok but isnt autech version got the special exhaust already or it isnt good enugh? New turbo hmmm like a car having new balls :) hahahah. Ok wats power fc? If im upgrading the parts i will be looking at parts that increase Hp with increase in efficiency of the car. Not mods that dump more fuel into the chamber to get more power.(like power chip) Im looking at the best median with costs and power gain. With the upgrades you were saying how many hp increase?

I have an Autech and cannot recommend them highly enough. They are an awsome car to drive. I have a pair of pods, HKS dumps, Nismo front pipe, Greddy EBC and a Power FC. Pulled 250awkw and ran a 12.5 down the qtr with a very sticky 32deg night in Darwin. It is so easy to get power out of these motors. I am running std fuel system, ic and exhuast (from the cat back) The std exhaust is very restrictive, I am still trying to find a good one locally so if anyone has one let me know.

Cheers,

Ken

If you are after one get in touch with PRIMO. He is an excellent buyer and lives in Japan. I have his number if you would like it.

I assume is a car trader in Jpan and hes a japanese? Yea i wouldnt mind his number to get in touch with him. The problem is how do i get compliance in Melbourne? I dont want to go through the car dealers they will double charge me for compliance costs. Thanks Rb. Did you get your autech from Primo? What color is yours? Im looking to get a black one.

Stasis, I brought in [ STAGEN ] 's Stagea for him a few months back now, so speak to him - I think he's still happy with my service!

A pic of his car are here...

As someone mentioned, Nismo Stageas are hideously rare, and you'd most certainly never see one come up at auction. The Autech 260RS is a different kettle of fish - they are awesome cars and you normally see one or two pop up at auction every week.

I used to live and work as a buyer at auctions in Japan and now just import for a hobby. I only charge $300 broker's fee, apart from that it's whatever it costs to buy it in Japan and bring it here, and I do all the legwork for you, right up until registration.

Like i said before im interested in an Autech version of the nissan stagea (purchasing within this year probably later half of the year) How do i proceed with the process, oayments ,compliance Etc Thanks buddy.

Wat brand is your pod? And how much you got it for and where? Does it improve the engine performance much?

So far i have only dealt with a drop in K&n filter apart from one occasion in my Rx8 i bought a kit from rotary extreme k&n filter element with the stainless stell box. Because its a rotary and have a pretty smart ecu (which is annoying) it didnt improve much but sounds great w/o having changing the cat back.

Do you have a cold air intake and heat shield on yours? I most probably have the intake change to a pod filter (k&n)

Wats the dump pipe and the front pipe i dont understand the term soz im still a newbie in turbos. Although my landcruiser is a turbo intercooled diesel.

How much all up did you spend on your mods? thanks buddy

I will PM you Phils number. He isnt Japanese but my experiences with him have been very good. I actually took him to Japan for the first time. The rest is history. While I am pulling out of the game (own a comms business that keeps me out of trouble) I like to keep in touch with the people I have bought from/dealt with previously. I would suggest that you shop around though. Buying a 260 is a pretty major purchase so you will need to do your research/quoting prior to purchase. A quick trip to Jap may be a good idea too. It will cost you a bit but may be the best thing to do. There is nothing like wandering around the yards for hours on end looking for the car you want. Can be frustrating at the same time too. Have a chat to vrfour too, he may be the man for the job. Get your quotes and see what you can get for your budget. If you buy a 260 you will not be dissapointed, I can guarantee you that much.

I am running a pair or K&N pods, not running cold air induction as yet. They seem to perform well however I would recommend the Blitz SUS filters. They are great. I have spent around $5000.00 thus far including fitting and tuning. The dump pipes are directly behind the turbos. They allow the gases to be spent without the turbulence causing the turbos to experience back pressure via the wastegate. The run a seperate wastegate pipe to alleviate this problem. The front pipe is basically a Y pipe that joind the two dumps into one prior to entereing the cat or exhaust proper. The dumps and front pipes are a great upgrade as the complied vehicle will have 4 cats. One main, a secondary and two in the front pipes.

go the rb26 :O

go for some low mount turbos, hks 2530s or garret gt2860r's (nice a responsive, bolt str8 on, look stock still) as the stock turbos r ceramic and dont like much boost.

power fc ecu (either the air flow metered version or the djetro)

new dump pipes, front pipes and exhuast

and im sure over 300rwhp is possible with stock injectors/fuel pump

upgrade to 550cc or 700cc injectors and a bigger fuel pump and over 400-500rwhp is pretty acheivable, though long term reliability is a worry on the 26 bottom ends depending on km's travelled and the tuners skills at avoiding detonation.

i had 360rwhp in my stagea b4 and that was a bit of an animal and used to go damn hard. the cars excess weight (1800kg on weightbridge mine is) makes it abit slow off the mark.

go the 260rs u wont be dissapointed :(

Thanks pal, well im not looking for a substantial hp increase. but enough to poss the Hsx, ford gt, evos and suby especially the sti. If im able to make their jaw dropped right down to the ground im happy  . All in all im ging to keep the car for a long time so i want a realible upgrade for a long term use. Upgrades such as the air intake, echaust (dont know how good is the autech ones) turbos(how much for a nismo ones? fly wheel (nismo). Probably all the upgrades i will make it nismo apart from the air intake i will go with the K&n pod filter. anuone used them before in this forum? Thanks

ken,\

do you use aftermarket brake pads for your brembo brakes or you use original pads? Either how much you got it for and by any chance do you have the part number for it? Or any other part numbers that you have? Thanks

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
