Someone mentioned 'entrapment' before and you see it often in threads relating to fines etc, im fairly sure that entrapment is an american thing and as such, has no relevance here.

Also reguarding the cops word against yours, i have *heard* that if a regular traffic cop (sergeant, constable) in a marked car pulls you up, they must show evidence of you speeding, however if it is a detective in an unmarked car, their word is deemed evidence enough.

Not correct. There must be sufficient evidence to prove the offence. It does not matter if it was a sergeant or a detective sergeant. If it was a highway vehicle that pulled you over you have no chance of beating the charge. Fines are listed into categories. 15 and under/over etc. The speed that you were caught doing must have been over 45km. The offence code it broken down to exceed speed over 45km. This means that all tickets over that speed are listed as above. The only chance that you have is if it wasnt a highway car then the officers that pulled you over estimated the speed because they are not fitted with radars hence the reason general duties vehicles dont get people for speeding. You can question their estimation skills in court but i seriosly doubt that it was one of these vehicles. Highway are fitted with radars and video cameras. If you do allect to go to court and plead not guilt, then the police have enough evidence to prove the offence. Seriously court will only cost you more money. Speeding is a very easy offence to prove. All the police have to show is that you were the driver of a motor vehicle on a road or road related area and that you were exceeding the speed by 45km. Talk to a solicitor but i think they will all say the same thing.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
