Funny Knocking Noise

hey guys just recently my cars been making a knocking noise from inside the bell housing

im thinking its the throwout bering or watever is called that pushes on the clutch. It only makes the noise at idol i think(cant here it wen im driving) but as soon as u put ur foot on the clutch it stops.

any ideas or info would be appreciated thanks guys..Joel

i have found the problem, theres a short rod that sits inside a valve an pushes on a metal plate its loose an vibrating this is located under the drivers side of the gear box, the problem is that i could easily fall out! any one else had this problem.

Are you referring to the pivot ball?

If so you can put in up on a hoist and tighten it up with a 17mm spanner. Make sure the ball is intact as they often come away from the attaching shaft.
