Well ive seen a few momo knobs fer sale on ebay...but they dont seem to have the screws to tighten onto the gearknob from the sides? Wot i meant by screwed on tight was from the sides...not as in the normal way knobs screw into the stick...

ok j-boy just wondering why you would want those ones that screw in from the side with the grubs...They are in a word- useless...To be honest i have had a couple and will never have one again as they constantly come loose and you forever tightening them and there is nothing more annoying than changing gear with a gear knob that spins around or just plain comes off...food for thought...

zaffa: that's exactly my problem now...my gear stick thread is no good and i cant get my gearknob tightly in...thats why i thought of using those geearknobs which could screw in tight from the side and secure it...but hmmm...seems like even that isn't gonna work...

Just pull out your shifter then and take it to a machine shop and ask for the thread to be returned to original size. Otherwise buy a new one from the wreckers. Grub screwed are a pain.

Well ive been asking about machining the thread n stuff..but problem is i still dunno who exactly to go to, as in im not too familiar with these engineering or machining shops that could do the job...

I'm located in brisbane....any of u guys could recommend me an actual place that could do this job of getting the thread on my current shifter back to before fer the gearknob? Don't really wish to change shifters as im running short shifter...
