either way, studies conducted recently said that they expect petrol to run out in 7 years unless new areas are explored. That and the current conflict with places like Iraq puts our petrol demands at an all time high.

Better enjoy your "ultimate" for the next 7 years

Nuhh thats bullshit, theyve been saying that for 20 years, its just used as an excuse so that the fuel companys can keep rising the price...

and really, whoopty f**king doo, in 7 years, oh well jsut spend $1000 odd $ and convert the fuel lines to be able to handle methonol/ethonaol problem solved >_<

Quote form a BP Ultimate brochure:

"BP Ultimate offers advanced engine cleaning performance. it actually cleans your engine as you drive, reducing friction and making it run more efficiently for longer ....... BP Ultimate can prevent as much as 97% of the inlet valve deposits that can form when using regular unleaded .......... test results from dyno testing 2 FPV GT's after the 2 vehicles had run for 7,000k's under identical conditions, the power output of the car running BP Ultimate was 13.8Kw greater..... our testing has shown increases of up to 43kms per tankful on average fuel consumption of 9.5L per 100K's" ... and the story goes on.

Thats all well and good but i wont to know HOW they got the 13.8kw increase.

Were they able to advance the ignition due ot knock levels being lower than before, were the FPV's the turbo model and they increased boost (if so then other mods required) its all well and goood saying that they had a 13.8kw increase but i for one would like to know how they found the additional power and also some dyno charts overlapping there runs.

As for the 43kms increase per tank full, again this can all come down to the tune.

When i first had my car going i was lucky to see 2ks to 10L and it was an expensive car to fill (hence why i didn't drive it much) but after a tune i saw a remarkable difference with fuel economy (i actually had economy :( )

Before the old girl went pop i was about to get 100K's from about 8L driving normally to and from work.

I was able to get 100K's from about 13-15L with gate ( mmmmmmmmmm gate)

Obviously its going to make a HUGE difference with the extra RON and this will inturn let people tune there cars for more ignition and boost and if need be more fuel.

Bring it on i say and its long overdue but i would still like to see there data from tehre testing.

BP Ultimate isn't something new (it obvioulsy is to Tassie :eerm:) but its been around for a while on the mainland and i cant see that they would of changed anything to bring it to the Apple Isle.

Cheers GMB

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
