i tried jump starting my car early friday morning and accidently had negative on positive and postive on negative on the battery with power,its arced on my cars battery,and now wont start and when i try to start it,it keeps blowing the green ignition switch fuse in under the bonnet.

any idea of what i have blown which causes the ignition switch fuse to keep blowing when i try to start the car.

any help will be appreciated thanks.

try leaving your key on ignition than put the new fuse in, than turn the key. I had a similar issue with my old car (rolla) once,

i blew the fuse after dropping the ratchet on an exposed connection on the alternator while changing the spark plugs, sparks everywhere, scared the shit out of me.

i replace the fuse, than as soon as i start it the fuse goes, took it to mechanic and he put the key in ignition and than put the fuse in, car started fine
