bombastic, is that city driving? or highway? or both?

how are you finding that solenoid boost mod? big difference in performance?

IIRC it was all in the suburbs/city.

When I first did the mod I thought it was a fairly noticeable difference, now I'm just used to it, so I'm waiting on a turbotech boost controller to bump it up a little :D

I don't see why performance should chew up heaps more fuel, unless you get on the boost every time you take off. Even then, you're still only accelerating to the speed limit and then cruising - what difference does it make if you burn fuel at a high rate for a small period of time (neglecting running rich on boost etc.), or at a low rate for a large period of time (like a grandma)? Either way, you should have a similar amount of energy being converted into motion and heat to get to cruising speed. Of course if the next set of lights go red then I can see how it'll be a big waste.

Excuse my skewed and probably-wrong theoretical world view

Mate i got a stock 33 s2 only mods are exhaust and pod, i constantly get 450 to 500km per tank, but thats before the light comes on, i did get 520km once just as the light came on, then filled up, still had around 5-8 litres left in tank. I don't boost it much manly drive just to work and back and occasionally weekend fang.

have been getting 300ks to a tank for a 200rwkw 4 door r33s1 (yes, they do have fuel lights)

been better since i cleaned my afm, and use 5th gear a bit more

getting 350+ now to a tank (turned o2 sensor back on on pfc)

getting retune down the coast, will be stoked if i can get 400ks to a tank

does it involve alot of highway k's?

coz i get like twice as much if it's highway.

Yeah, sometimes. Although its only for 15-20mins as work is close to home. Don't see much of a change when just driving around town, maybe closer to 450km a tank. I find if i don't boost it much then the fuel lasts alot longer, and besides around town or anywhere for that matter on the street you really don't need to boost it anyway, but then there's the track, where at wakie a few weks ago i went through 3/4 of a tank for the day!!! only did like 250kms!!! Can't wait to see what it uses at Eastern Creek ;)

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
