if you're sure you're in the right, threaten to take him to a tribunal

www.cttt.nsw.gov.au

but write them a letter of demand first about your problem and how you want it resolved. you can use this letter in the tribunal to prove that you tried to resolve it privately first.

you'll need receipts, and warrany records, photoes and stuff to prove your case.

I had a problem where a guy ingnored me for damaging my car until I threatened to take him there in a latter of demand. From the website, its $31 to apply but luckily i didnt have to go that far

yeh i remeber reading about that one a little while ago. its good that you got the money for the repair.

GOOD NEWS :D .. ok i put the car up on car stands tonight and took the gear box out (man thats a b!tch isnt it), and found what i had hoped for! , nothing at all was broken. the fork that pushes the thrust bearing had come uncliped from the thing that holds the bearing and was stuck pushing the thrust bearing up against the clutch, casusing the clutch to slip, which also caused the fork to not return to its home posistion because it had also come dislodoged from the clip that holds it onto the pivit ball.

i think i know why this had happend too now that ive seen what has happend. a week ago i had the clutch master and slave cylinder, and all ajoining pipes and hoses, reconditioned. and the result of that was a longer throw on the slave cylinder.

this pushed the fork and the thrust bearing further than normal and the fork had slid off the thrust bearing as a result of that (i assume.. its the only thing that makes sence). im not going to even bother explaining it fully, too hard with out pictures and i couldnt be bothered crawling under the car again to take photos.

so when i put it all back together tomorrow, im going to ajust the clutch pedel so that the pick up point is lower down so that it doesnt push the fork as far anymore :(

now assuming that was all that was broken, and is now fixed up, ill be puting the car back together and be driving by tomorrow night :P :P

sorry guys, i jumped to conclusions here with assuming that the pressure plate had failed.. but everything that it was doing showed this.. sliping clutch, snaping feel on the pedel (which was just the fork sliping off). and the clutch fork staying pushed in. but thankfuly it wasnt what i thought it was.

:P:D

:stupid::unsure:

Yeah thats what i would have guessed happened ... :ermm:

hahah seriously though, glad to hear it all worked out.

glad you go it all sorted out. i was thinking it was the pivot ball that had snapped. i had it go in mine. i had the car up on jacks to replace the front pipe and when i let it down and went to back it out of the garage the clutch felt weird. i let it up then pushed it in again then let it up. as i let it up again the pedal just shot to the floor. turned out it had snapped it off clean at the bell housing. my mechanic mate said this is usually caused by it being over tightened when installed. cost me 90 cents to fix (thanks to a mate that works at an enginnering shop) and a few hours under the car. the pivot bolt seems to be a common weakness on 33's though. i had 1 go, then a few weeks later a mate had his go, but it just snapped the head off. and the owner of the local autobarn had one snap where mine did in his 33.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
