Question About Turbo Timer And Microtech Lt12

My turbo timer still works fine, and before I got the microtech it worked properly but now when I start the car it starts counting down and then shuts off, when I turn off the ignition with the timer on, I have to give it a rev for the timer to catch the ignition otherwise it does nothing and shuts down. Does anyone have this same thing and is there a way to get it working properly?
