Sunshine Coast Mechanics, Know Of Any Decent Ones?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of any mechanics on the sunny coast that know a thing or two about imports.

I'm based in coolum and don't want to take my 35 to bris everytime I wanna get it checked out.

Any recommendations people?\

cheers

yeah, chapmans in cooroy is pretty good, they used to do work on my r30, and they should have a brand new dyno out there now.

well experienced crew out there

Yelp I gave him a call and had a good chat for about 20 minutes, he sounds like a top bloke. I'm going to swing by on thursday and have a chat with him.

I'm extremely happy I've found a good mechanic (with import experience) close by.

He did say say he's got connections in Japan, so no probs sourcing anything. Hhhmm what to get first... haha. Why do I feel like owning this car is going to be a costly experience

Good to hear. :)

it probably will be costly if u start with the modifying but hey, its all part of the fun owning a car isnt it.

if u dont mind me asking , where did u get your V35 from??

Haha very true

I got my car through J-spec. Was sitting at my computer one day and I got an email from them (am on the mailing list) with my car on it. By the end of the day it was mine.

I can't reccomend J-spec more highly!

Just got some more stuff done to my car... and marty now has his business up and running, here's some info off his business card if anyone else in the area wants to check him out, couldn't recommend him enough!

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
