yeh im stinging to see what she makes?

does anyone no what boost the 2860r make on the actuator setting they come with?as im not running any sort of controller/

I've heard the wastegate spring is adjustable, and that the factory setting is 1 bar.

That's second hand info, so treat it as such.

It depends a bit on the exhaust system but if you have a free flowing system with high flow(or no cat)cat you should see ~0.9 to 1 bar boost off the actuators, and a reduced boost level if the exhaust is restrictive at all.

i have justjap dumps whick look to be nice and free flowing,2.5inch in to 3inch stainless dumps, stock gtr cat and 31/4inch titanium cat back. i want to run about 22psi so how should i adjjust them? or should i run a bleed valve

the std cat is going to have a dramatic effect on the system and why do you think you need 22 psi the extra boost doesn't always gain big results the -5 i have found on the rb26 seem to hit a sweet spot around 18 psi and the after 20psi the gains for boost increase fade, so for the extra stress your putting on the engine and turbos it's offen not worth it. 18psi quiet offen can see a healthly well sorted rb26 pass 510rwhp+ but if your looking for figures inexcess of 530-540 your should most likely be looking for a different combo and you'll have to sacifice responce to do so.

As for controlling 22psi you WILL have to buy a electronic controller to get the consistent control required or you will suffer the swings in boost pressure from different temperature conditions which at that level could be dangerous at 18psi a swing of 1 or 2psi isn't to scary but 22 plus 2 or 3psi and your getting very close the design limit of the centre cariridge of 2 bar.

I'll 2nd Seans call on a MetalCat. I bought my GTR with a straight pipe in place of the cat & when I swapped it out for a 4" MetalCat flanged back to 3" to match the exh there was basically no noticeable difference in performance whatsoever.

BTW didn't you lose your licence awhile back?? Might explain why you're in no real rush to throw everything at the car ;)

He'll be on the road again, before you know it.

Not when all the parts are ready to put on. get moving!

yyeh yeh im just getting motivated...4months 1 week till im legally aloud to drive again so ill prob get more motivated then...

still its a pain not even being able to start it and hear the noise of my rb26....grrrrr

Man, i there with you. Mines been off the road for.. *gulp* 12 months. Have a mass of power steering lines to re-route, 12v feeds to run through the cabin, engine oil cooler to finish lining up... all waiting till i can get my tahbin and m.fold - i LONG for the sound of the RB again

It can often be hard to get under the gurl in the ever colder nations capital, to be covered in PS fluid.

At the moment im on a raising rate dose of HiOctane / JDM vids, plus 80's Rally docos' and rides in mates fast rides

Almost there, have faith man

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
