Blue LED's in PFC?

I saw this on paulr33's PFC thread and was instantly intrigued (looks übercool:) ).

Does anyone know how to do this? If so could you post pics and what's required.

I've thought about getting it done too, because the rest of my stuff has blue lights in it...

Ages ago when the nokia 8210's were around, then the 8250 came out, people were getting their 8210 lights changed to the blue LED's from the 8250...

An asian guy at the laverton market did it for like $50 at the time (very tedious work if you've seen the size of the LED's)...If he's still there, i'd say he'd be able to do the same for the pfc hand controller, because the LED's look very similar if not the same.

you need surface mount LED's

any good electronics distro should have em

just show them a pic of the hand controller LEDS and they should know what u mean

Paul is the "how to connect your handcontroller to USB" guide in your FAQ? I want to do that so that I can fix my HC.

nah its not in there - i can dig it up, ive still got the hand controller in my room

from memory the wires are brown and white which you run to + and - on the USB plug / loom

it lights up but wont boot - unsure if this will damage the hand controller or not as the one i was testing with was toast before i started

powering it up without a signal won't hurt it.

Mine is fine, I just need it to power with a logo, so I can sit at my desk and test some things to solder it up so the back lights start working properly again.

Its too hard to plug into the powerfc in the car and try and solder it there
