Ok, I couldn't find anything of value so I thought I would ask how the T70 turbo's go with an RB25 motor?

.82 exhaust size with a 60.5mm front wheel is the one I am looking at.

I am ok with a little lag, ie it starts boosting at 3500rpm.

but do they come on at 5k or something ridiculous?

Not after opinions on the quality of a T70, just what they are like on a 25 please.

My mate one tuned one for a customer rb25det and it made 420rwhp on 19 psi. it made full boost at around 4000rpm

that's the answer I was hoping for.

have got 550cc injectors, haltech ecu etc etc, so I figure if I see full boost by 4k and I am making high 200rwkw's, they must be a good "cheaper" turbo then.

cheers

assumptions?

Why do you think I am asking the question here?

Got an answer that relates to an answer I got elsewhere that they are pretty good on a 25, but laggy on a 20.

The 20 I speak of made 24orwkw on 19psi.

I plan on running 16psi in the 25 and anything between 250-300 rwkw will be a big jump from 204rwkw that I had last tune.

Saying that, it's more a question about lag.

yep thats right boosting at 4800, i had power fc, the usuals no internals, too get it to boost early like 4k you would need a good set of cams. and im now running a gt3040. your better to save your money and do the job right first than waste $500 or however much they are, i learnt the hard way money down the drain and i had a lag monster.

gt3040 or a gt3540, is a million times better. you can choose your ex. housing size for your response you want. there excellent quality, ball bearing, water cooled. i really wish i went that to start with instead of trying to get cheap power that just cost more in the end.

I had one also on my rb25 and didnt see full boost till about 4800-5000rpm...was a mass lag monster. On 17psi i made 350rwhp with supporting mods and all, no cams though.

then it ceased up cause the shitty oil line i used got blocked up and starved the turbo of oil.

Now have a gt3040 with .63 rear, much much better :)
