hey guys just wondering if there is anything on the block or head of an rb20 to let you know if its a silver top etc etc. also on the ecu any markings to tell the same as question 1? im chasing and intermitant stalling issue/ idle hunt issue

The earlier ecu's have 4 plugs, the later silver top ones have 1 big plug

The NICS has NICS printed on the planium, the ECCS has ECCS on it

As for telling a Silvertop ECCS from a Red Top ECCS there is a way but i've forgotten

A red top ECU will run a silver top. You just plug it in, I've tried it and definitely works. You do lose your consult port, I'm not sure what else.

Only internal difference is one uses a 256kbit eprom, the other uses a 512kbit eprom. Other than that there almost identical internally.
