Need help.

The car is R34-GTS-T, had done this mods when i got it:

HKS cat back systems

HKS air intake systems

HKS intercooler

HKS evc

I'm thinking to get the cpu change, like Apexi Power Fc, Greddy e-manage, or HKS F con S. But my friend told me it's better to get the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump change.

1. A'm I make a good decision by upgrade the cpu?

2. What would be better for the next upgrade?

Thanks

1. Front/Dump pipe (you'll be suprised at the midrange power)

2. Switch the boost up to 11-12psi (dont run any higher)

3. Exhaust Cam Gear

4. Fuel pump / Regulator

THEN.. start on the easy things like ECU, etc.

Make sure your pod filter is sealed from the engine heat, and has a decent air duct from the front bar to the pod.

I Agree fully with benm, except for step 4/. fuel reg. and pump should be up to the task. When and if you decide to upgrade the turbo then do these mods.

I have an after market ecu and the gains were very noticable. Still running factory pump and reg. without any signs of leaning out, up top. a/f is approx. 12.2, which sacrifices a couple of rwkw to keep the engine very safe. Car pulls alot harder and feels alot stronger when tuned properly with a ecu.

I dont know about 34 fuel pumps, but 33 ones are known for unreliability, which is why so many go straight for the bosch alternatives when powering up.

But yeah, as suggested, do the dump and front pipe first, and if fuel system is up to it, do the ECU.

As far as i know, no one can really proprerly tune an F-con in australia? Its certainly not as well known to tuners as the power FC, which has been tried and tested over and over. The E-manage apparently has some really good featurs that even the FC doesnt have, but again, less people know how to tune it properly.

Id go the Power FC, you cant go wrong. I dont know who would tune it in wollongong, but you can always go to croydon's in sydney. I think they did the tuning on the R34 gt-t project running in HPI mag.

Also, as suggested, apparently its a waste of time having a pod filter if its not partitioned.

Cheers, have fun! :burnout:

    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
    • We have one that holds 2.8L of water. On floor carpet that hasn't been touched in 2 or 3 years, will take a minimum of 2 fills of the tank to do a bedroom, and that's going AROUND the bed.   In the cruiser, I used an ENTIRE 2.8L tank, just on the front passenger footwell. But it had some fungus growing, and had been full of mud from being used as a 4WD for many years. I can do that floor again, and it will still pull mud out. However, the water now only looks dirty, not pitch black and leaving full sludge in the bottom of the tank it sucks back into. Oh, and, this is about a $1500 unit.
    • This is mine, works a treat for the cars, suction is good, I use the Bissell clean and protect stuff I have found giving it a good spray and light scrub with the soft brush on the head of the nossle for carpet, and a rub with a microfibre for cloth seats and cloth door trims, prior to another quick spray before vacuuming it up works the best @GTSBoy You would surprised on what it gets out of carpet and seats that actually "look" clean, I recommend that you test drive yours when you have a little time to kill, then post pics of the muddy looking water that I believe you will find
    • I think even the "commercial" capacity ones that you would hire from supermarkets etc wouldn't have the capacity to do all that much in one go. I will go through half a dozen tanks of solution and dumps/rinses of the waste tank for one little 2 seat sofa. Or similar for one 6 footish rug. That's the price you pay for something small that only takes up a bit of cupboard space, instead of something that takes up the entire laundry cupboard or half the shed.
    • Someone needs to copy it, improve it aesthetically, make it DBW ready from day 0 and send it to the motherland Chynah for my relatives to cast it and mass produce it 😅
