I would like to ad the reasons I went the microtech. which is the real question here.

First of all it is Australian made.

Backup support with their own forum http://www.microtechefi.com/

When I bought it, the pwfc was plentiful and highly recomended but I just didnt like the idea of buying something with no local backup

had a microtech on my s1 33 gtst actually was the first in adelaide to have their 'plug n play' setup. in short it was very poor as a daily driver, mostly cause it did not have enough adjustment for cold start idle up etc. but as alredy stated, fine for a race/weekend only car. oh yeah and definately agree that your tuner is EVERYTHING when dealing in aftermarket ecu. my choice PFC

First in Adelaide, very interesting. What date did get the Microtech installed? As I know another person with the 'first' S1 GTS25t LT12 install in Adelaide.

What about the ltx12 microtech inbuilt boost controller, who has used this? It would be better than using a bleed valve right?

I guess the ultimate would be a set wastegate spring, but how do you set up a switch to select high/low boost when using say 16psi wastegate spring, I guess the switch would turn on an electronic boost controller? Or could you set two different springs to switch mechanically on the wastegate?

    • You sweet summer child, if only you knew the intricacies of the world of LS you would come around to the lego construction of them and truly praise the LS1, the greatest of all. This of course depends on your use case. That said, LS7 is actually down towards the bottom of the list. The amount of info on the subject puts SAU's 20 year knowledgebase on RB's and R chassis to shame.
    • We're not talking about one of those little girl LS's like yours. We're talking the big boy. LS7.
    • Fuel use with a LS is about the same as a RB. Slightly better than a modified RB with a responsive turbo. :p You'd need another excuse to not go LS (there is no excuse to not go LS)
    • I didn't know about induction heaters but checked them out and they look awesome but too pricey for the occasional job like this. And I'm too nervous to take a flame anywhere near there as the petrol tank is so close, although I was intrigued with the crayons suggestion 馃榿 I filled a coke bottle lid with penetrating fluid and raised it on the jack so the nut was submerged in it all night. Then went in with a tiny cold chisel and got it almost to the point of splitting but not quite (I didn't want to damage the bolt threads). Then I hammered a socket back on and gently worked it until I felt movement. And it's off 馃榾
    • I should. But it already uses too much fuel for a daily. You might note my recco for engine chnages are almost exclusively to people who have it as a weekender/summer car. I don't even have room to keep the spares for this one, let alone another car.
