Thats crap nissan aren't built better by demand. I would put Nissan build quality during the 90's at the bottom of the japanese manufactures bar Suzuki.

People are dumb though. They want a car at the cheapest price so they buy an import and then go how sad it is how holden, ford, mitsubishi, etc, etc have to cut jobs. Well buy australian and that won't happen. Cars cost more to make here as we are so far away. Parts, etc, have to be imported so they cost more. Manufacturing parts here isn't the best idea as it cost's a heck of a lot more.

um built quality from nissan to ford holden you cant compare

skylines were never cheaper than the average ford or holden i dont know where you got this from my 11 year old car didnt look 11 yrs old when i got it now im used to it i dont know but i like everything in it

Sorry but gotta agree with Madaz here, the build quality of a Nissan, say a 33 or 34 Skyline definately competes with or even surpasses that of a Ford or Holden made here in Australia. Earlier in the year I was involved in a rather nasty crash in my R33 and the officers on the scene were surprised to see how well I had fared during the crash. One even said to me speaking from personal experience that had I been in a Holden or a Ford, things probably would have ended for me a lot differently that day

id say nissans are better. im converted.

my cousin is running a VT now and hes dropped a supercharged v6 in it from older first gen type HSVs and hes running a 5 speed manual gearbox with it. he just got it running last week and the car pulls so f**king much. but there are some interesting engine management problems as there is no such thing except for about 6 custom cars in australia in total that have got to run a v6 supercharged engine with a manual conversion.

i dunno about you but hes the 2nd only person in adelaide to do this and i went for a drive with him tonight to findon and its f**king sweet. +rep to him for pulling it off somewhat... now to go somewhere to do the management.

but putting all holden talk to the side now, if i wanted to buy a car that i could thrash id buy a holden, if i wanted to be an enthusiast and go on cruises and seem somewhat less bogan id get a nice sports coupe turbo like a skyline.

In terms of build quality i'm talking about fit and finish. Quality of plastics and materials. Panel gaps etc, etc.

I would rate nissan quite poorly in the 90's. They are better than holdens and fords at the time, but the new commodore and falcon are a heck of a lot better espically the holden.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
