Hey guys,

just got our new Trust Drag intercooler from CRD(thanks guys).

Its the biggest one that you can buy off the shelf.

its 710mm wide X 305mm high X a massive 165mm thick(150mm tube).

I'll be putting the cooler on this weekend, if CRD have time i'll get a power run on the sat morning then fit the cooler and then another one once the shop opens back up.

maybe even try and rerun on the sat.(fit on the friday night).

Once the cooler is fitted i can then rule out any pressure drop across the core.

I'm thinking that once this cooler is on and the 4" exhaust is back on the 700cc injectors will impose a power restriction.

CRD have said they normally see them max out at around 500-520 awkw. I'll be glade if our set-up can make that sort of power with the 33d that we have.

I know that with the 4" exhaust n the car will come on boost earlier and i should see the 500 at about 8000rpm.Since there should be no restriction up top the only thing stopping power all the way to its 8500rpm limiter would be the turbo it self.

The set-up now on the GTR is a TRUST exhaust manifold SARD wastegate, TRUST T88-33D, TRUST 710 X 305 X 165 intercooler. 4"piping to a HYPERTUNE intake manifold and HYPERTUNE 100mm TB.

The head is also ported. The cams are only the tomei 260 9.15 pon units, bu ti think they will work well with the small exhaust housing.

I'll let you all know how the new set-up goes and back to back them with our old GT-SS set-up.

Cheers

I Have to take some photos and take them around to dough boy to put up how about i just give him the photos of the intercoolers and the dyno tuns on sat as i'vce just booked the car in for a power run at C&V at 7.30 on sat morning wich should give the guys at Hypertune enough time to install the cooler to a stage where i can drive the car around for the after power run.

Cheers

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
