Has Anyone Had A Cracked Injector?

I picked uo a fuel smell 2 days ago and on investigation saw a small pool of fuel in the valley of injector #1 just where the pintle cap goes into the manifold. So I thought an o ring was split so bought a new set.

I took the injector out to discover the oring was intact. so I replaced it anyway and used a smear of oil to allow it to go back in without pinching. put the injector back in and bolted the fuel rail down.

IT STILL LEAKS!!! none of the other 5 leak even after the remove refit. just injector #1

so I repeated the whole process twice over and to no avail the exact same annount of fuel is leaking out. the injectors were ultrasonically cleaned 3000k's ago and have not leaked untill now. the pintle caps are new and so are the orings but the top and bottom seals have not been replaced. they are still perfectly intact and in good contition.

Is is it possible the body of the injector has cracked? the yellow plastic (444cc gtr injectors) I inspected it with a magnifying glass and could not find any cracks.

If any one can shed some light on this that would be great!

I too had this happen on my GTR, i replaced all the seals, O rings etc and they just kept leaking. I cleaned them off so they were dry and started it up to see where fuel was coming from and it started seeping from the sides of the injectors ! Replaced with some 2nd hand jobbies and all was good. Note: mine started leaking not long after i had overheated the engine with a split hose, so maybe the heat had damaged them internally ?

Looks like I need to track down a couple of injectors
