Just got back then, me shane and john went up tambo for a scout of the mountain, lucky we did too because the route I was going to take is blocked off due to roadworks!

lmao...you were going to do the goat track?? that wont be open till prob easter, has been closed for coming on 8 months now, it blows. Thats a nasty road at speed.

pm'd you ianb

Roffles just remembered this... on the way down the mountain tonight heading into the coast, this porsche and volvo are being absolute wankers... nearly ran john off the road when he had to merge when his lane ended (gunned it up from behind john to try to get between us as the lanes merged into one, johno guned it back and beat him too it)

Anyway I decided to pull us over and let these two go past... Anyway they pull up at the lights and were behind them, me behind the porsche. The driver of the porsche gave it some good stick (and I must admit I flattened it too to keep up) as the lights went green and it started blowing smoke EVERYWHERE! Not just small amounts of smoke either, not blowby or overfuling, huge no-shit clouds of smoke that started to impare my and shanes vission... did a good job of waxing up the front of my car too.

So I get next to the thing and tell it to pull over, turn it off, somethings f**ked and its pissing huge billows of oil smoke everywhere. This is when I notice theres an old woman driving it with her son in the back. Considering the way it was being driven just prior to all this, I found this quite surprising.

Anyway me and johno park, me and shane leg it back (johno parked closer, I had to go further down the road) and the volvo has pulled over too. The volvo owner is a older dude, looks like the husband, and hes just saying its burning off excess oil. My ass, itd been with us for a good 10 mins by that stage and it hadnt blown so much as a whiff, then as soon as she launched it bang, smoke city, it even blew heaps while it was idleing. All he wanted to do was just get out of dodge however... it was really strange. Also, why the old woman driving the porsche with the toddeler son in the back and the husband in the shitty volvo? and Why was the old woman driving it so hard? They seemed almost desperate to get away. Id say stolen if it wasnt for the toddeler?

Anyway it was quite a laugh to watch this happen after they allmost ran johno off the road. The porche had death-rattles bad as it drove away.

Was a good day and good to meet some new people from the site, will have to do a random run again.

Sorry guys would of loved to of done the mountain run but i could not bare another lap of the esplande with all that traffic, my left leg was killing me with all that twin plate clutch work. See you all another time.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
