I am using TORQUE INSURANCE who operate through a company called Lumley Insurance... insured my 93 R32 GTR for $26000 and only paying $1050 per year... I am 27 so I am over the 25 cut off that most insurance companies have but I lost my licence 3 times when I was a lot younger so I think this is a great price.

Yeah well I've been trying to call them today (Left two messages)... There is an american recorded voice on the other end, no-one seems to answer and I havent got a call back all day. They sound seriously dodgey, and I'm doubting that they have an Australian branch at all - its probably diverted to USA offices. Sure, it's related to washington, but a company that has this sort of shit raised against them is bound to be less than completely trustworthy..

Insurance companies arent something you want to take a punt on - especially when it could mean having to pay out for a $100,000 merc that you accidentally wrote off when your insurance company turns out to be a bunch of dodgey pricks from the USA! Im sure you catch my drift!

Insure with these guys by all means - just dont start a whining thread when they f*ck up your claim and you lose your car, or you have to pay out for the medical bills of a child you ran over when your insurance company leaves you high & dry!! :P

Im just saying - be careful :(

there is no '.au' postfix on that url, meaning its not a wa government website for a start.

wtf has that got to do with anything? I was never inferring that it was from Australia. It just is a coincidence that washington happens to have the same abbreviation that Western Australia does... It clearly says "WASHINGTON" on the top of the pdf anyway! :P

I was saying that a company that has this sort of order against them (ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD) is to be approached cautiously!!

Thanks but I was going for the more "Its 99% probability that its not the same company as this washington thing"

http://www.insurance.wa.gov/oicfiles/order...ers/D06-176.pdf

Proper URL for those that can't click.

    • Just to be clear, there were no lights or codes when the hiccups were occurring. Also nothing noticeable in the cars' braking. It brakes fine and the dash is clear. I only made the connection when it did throw a code and suddenly, despite the lights, it felt great again.
    • Yeah they are sliders and this was in my head before I worked out it was the speed sensor.
    • Ok so we have a smoking gun.  A few weeks ago I had to replace a speed sensor that I'd fit incorrectly. I replaced the sensor and everything was fine with no lights or codes thrown any longer.  When I was doing some more bedding in yesterday I got ABS and traction control lights again and, considering when this happens those things are disabled, the pedal went back to normal with smooth braking and no hiccups.  The codes thrown are for the same speed sensor that I replaced. When I looked at the sensor I took out it looks like the tip of the sensor is damaged. So whatever happened to it, perhaps it has damaged the magnetic ring on the bearing (that I only replaced the other week). I'll get my boroscope in the hole where the sensor goes and see if there is any damage in there. Hopefully just the tip of the sensor is in there and the bearing is fine. 🤞🏻  It's worth noting also that the pedal hiccup happens more often and for longer periods now and totally goes away when the codes are thrown again which happens usually after 5 or so minutes of driving. Love all your help here as usual guys, thanks!
