Gday guys, car has just started to backfire a little after i accelerate or just as i hit the gas around 2000rpm... Not everytime but enough to frustrate me. Could be many things that im aware of coil packs, AFM, plugs. Just wondering what spark plugs to use?? Ive seen different gaps for the plugs being used aswel... Just want an answer for plugs and gap?

The car is series 1 gtst33 stock with cat-back.

Also is it bad for the car?

Thanks heaps, Bluey

    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
    • Sounds like a misfire. Check fuel pressure and don't even think about going into boost while it's like this unless you enjoy engine rebuilds.
