tcs = traction control system? how do you turn it on? :(

is your r34 4wd? the slip light comes on when the road is slippery/wet :D

try this regarding the airbag light- have your drivers door open, turn the key on to ignition and within 5 seconds press the door light switch 7 times. should make the light go away :)

Sounds a bit dodgy..the airbag light could be coming on because it's been in an accident, had it go off & hasn't been reset properly? The other things..I dunno

If I'm not wrong if airbag went off and not fixed properly, the car cannot start at all...but the car do sound dodgy yeah...

check if the throttle body in your car has 2 or 1 wire. Also try look from behind the car and see if there is a short bar attach relatively close to the suspension which is aftermaket (generally colourfull)_..

check if the wirings in the middle is done properly..I have't done this yet..but I'm pretty sure to get to the triple gauge you have to use a screwdriver to pry out the air conditioning vents (under the tipple gauge) from the side. after it's out there'll be two screws holding the gauges from the front....there is this DIY site for R34 I forgot what it's called....

Took the car to my mechanic and he reckons i need to do a diagnostic test and re map the computer or something like that..... He seems to think because of all the mods sometyhing may have been re-mapped which would cause the slip light tcs light and the airbag light all to be on. I got NO idea where to start and how to fix this problem is really givin me the shits. I got the car from auction last week so i got no idea really whats been done to....

1. what computer are u running ???

if u are piggy backing then the factory computer is probbly just chucking a fit cuz not wired / set up right.

2. is the tcs still inplace?

if u are running factory plenum etc then probly yes

(tcs is nobby looking thing that comes of pipe crossing over head and sits into the neo cover)

3. airbag light flashing cuz seat/dash removed at some stage

(either to fit pigyback as under passenger seat is common place or dash removed / replaced)

4. centre guages - nfi ?

not sure if there is a fuse for these or not but would look in drivers kick panel if there is

else the guage panel is pretty easy to remove so open her up and check wiring

else get someone who knows shiz to take a look and if cant figure it out ...

... good excuse to buy some new guages

i'm no mecanic/auto elec guy but i hope this helps,

otherwise go see someone who specialises in 34's and they should know the score.

john.

Well that may explain the tcs because the neo cover has been removed.,id say because of the intercooler piping. So than maybe tcs has been removed all together. Im getting a guy to look at the guages today he reckons its no big drama as heaps of shit has been played around with. thanks for the replies

    • @GTSBoy yeah i know it was not the "great" idea but it is and option...but i think i will stay on no BoV rather then trying to make it work with "half" this and that. But that GReddy FV2 is cool...i like that you can make it like stock if you want (and have/make the custom pipes) For other thanks! it was alot of information. But for the sound...a dont rly "like" both of them...specialy if they are loud...but if i "must" choose i would rather have little whooosh rather than sutututu with no BoV....BUT that is what is i gonna get. So for the all info i gather. In my case:  No BoV is not that bad cuz it is stock...and iam used to put N/clutch right after rpms are around 1000 so it should be ok...just need to avoid "big" drops. But i do not have the engine in the car so i do not really know how "bad" or good it is. But as i had that little test drive it looked ok. The atmo BoV should be worse car would dump to much fuel specialy between the shifts...so without proper tune/ECU i dont want that. BUT with that...car should drive ok with no problems right? (i do like there is less piping wih this solution) 🙂
    • Usually an RB20 won't stay in closed loop idle anyway. The O2 sensor gets too cold, stops swinging.
    • They aren't, but it depends on what interests you about an R32-R34. If it's the front engine I6 turbo that tunes well with a manual transmission an E92 335i 6MT is so incredibly cheap. You can get a super clean one for 20-25k USD tops. Put an LSD in it, tune it, have fun with it. If it's the general idea of AWD + turbo and a manual transmission the 996 Turbo is absolutely much more expensive, it's less practical but it's also basically a complete track-ready car from the factory. At least the Mezger doesn't have heaps of oil control issues. And in the US the 996 Turbo and R33 GTR are roughly the same price these days. 996 maybe a bit more now that the hype has abated for old Skylines here.
    • these are not the same
