hi guys,

i have read the PFC faq.. for all RB26 owners.. wondering if you have set the O2 sensor reg. (on or off).. this is below the O2 feedback setting which i have also turned on.. initially it was off and after 30 mins of ecu learning.. it sounded like wrx with its zorst note.. on a side note, car is currently leaking oil from driver side somewhere so further testing on hold atm.. any pointers on where to look.. check oil filter and no sign of oil there.. perhaps a tear in one of the pipes on that side that leaks under load..

cheers

nesh

it should be on, and is on by default

it enables 02 feedback, which is fuel economy correction/adjustment on light cruise

the ecu will look at the stock 02 sensor sensor on light cruise and use that information to save fuel

hey paul, thanks for the reply.. wen i resetted the pfc initially, O2 feedback sensor was ON, however there was another setting below it, O2 sensor reg which i assume is a regulator etc.. this was OFF by default and i was wondering if that could be the cause of my weird zorst tone.. car doesnt hunt on idle but clearly lacks power.. do u think i need to reset the ecu again and have the O2 sensor reg. turned ON and then have the car re-learn over 30mins? sensor status on the hand controller shows all clear and working..

ah you are correct wise one

the BNR32/BNR33 powerfc has

02 feedback

and

02 reg on/off

the 02 reg on/off translates to

"Rides in BNR32 as for the customer who < Ant > Please set."

the only thing i can think of that would be related would be the fact the bnr32 uses titania 02 sensors, whereas the bnr33 does not

so it guess its some sort of extra mode to make the bnr32 units work corerctly, as bnr32 and bnr33 have same powerfc but different 02 sensor types

umm i guess only way to find out is to turn it ON and see if it makes a difference.. was reading PFC hand controller manual for RX7 and instructions for resetting of PFC via controller said selecting YES followed by Ignition switch OFF -> ON.. i didnt do the final step wen resetting my ecu as i was following ur guide and i think it didnt list it.. i hope i wasn't running the car with the previous map still on it as it was tuned for 370kw+..

i think you will find that the 02 feedback is mainly for emissions ;)

if you turn it on you get worse fuel economy and the car runs around 13.2 - 13.8 a/f ratio.

i even tested this theory on the RTA epa test and you can see it only changes the emissions and makes it run richer.

i have mine turned off at all times but had it on when i passed the emissions test :O

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
