Ive noticed sumthing a bit strange with my Meguire's Nxt Gen Tech Wax. I find that after waxing about half a car or so, the applicator pad/sponge becomes quite wet, i could squeeze it n water would dribble out, not wax but clearish dribbles of water. Has anyone else who uses Meguires found the same thing? I didnt think that water would be an additive to a waxing product, its suppose to repel water if anything. How is this possible?

is you stuff old?

my friend noticed this after leaving it overnight with the lid dopen

Nope brand new, well 3mths old. Unless its been sitting in the Super Cheap Autos shelf for an extremely long period of time. Ive noticed this the last 3 times ive used it from new.

I think if u leave it sitting for awhile then pour some out without shaking first, u'll also notice a light film of water/clear that comes out of the bottle first.

yeh thats pretty normal. i waxed mine yesterday for the first time in a while n i forgot to shake it

so yeh the water came out.

its fine after a good shake

Yeah but do u find that after waxing say half a car or so that the applicator sponge is wet? Like i can squeeze my spoonge n water would dribble out, i just find that odd since its a wax, a product thats sppose to repel water. Its almost seems like water is actually been added to the Tech Wax, bizarre!!

i never thought about squeezing the pad.

ive used heaps of waxes and ive found the tech wax to be the 'wettest'

most waxes i have kinda dry and polish off easily but tech wax stays slightly wet n it takes more effort to polish off

basti - have you noticed that there's always water under the trims, and stuff like that. I've found that drying it can't even get this water out.

What I do, is I let the car dry for a few days. Then I use a blow gun to make sure there's no dust on it, then i wax it.

yeah dude, no matter if i open all the doors (inc bonnet and boot and the petrol flap)and even the mirrors to dry everything i can with a rag i still cant get rid of all the water. my car is a daily so i cant really wait days for it to dry. the best i can do is a good hard punt from the carwash home and a very gentle wipe with a microfibre cloth. then wax. helps a fair bit but not ideal nd im not satisfied but what can ya do?

i find the result is livable and looks after my paint well enough that i can really make it look WOW when i wanna put in effort later

ive had this happen with the gold class and deep crystal polish too. to the point it leaves streaks of water with the wax. hmmm.... might it be because i dont dry my car properly? i wonder? :(

Yea i find the same, water streaks with the wax which is why i squeeze the pad to get rid of excess fluid/water. Maybe it is the leftover water from the wash like u guys mentioned coz it is hard to get rid of the water in some areas. R32woohoo - Tech wax is also the wettest wax ive used, most others have a creamier consistency.

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
