thanks Instant! was only able to go for drive and not see any dyno charts but it is hell laggy!! by 4 and half i think boost lifted full to 1.3 and it rocketed. dont know what the chances of are holding onto it in the wet?

one other question. is it possible to see what cc the injectors are on a vehicle?

thanks

Hi guys, another one with 2540 experience, try a 2530 and you will be amazed at the difference, almost the same max power but much earlier boost, more progression and much higher average power (flatter power curve).

Guest Yoda

i've got 2540 on rb25.

yes, 4500, it kicks in.

1st gear, 2nd gear will spin, rain hail or shine (255's on rear).

getting camber adjusted next week for more traction. new computer will reduce lag, i believe. i'm running stock injectors though, so maybe less lag with bigger injectors?

goes really well though :P

i'll try to get it dyno'd while i'm in town and put the sheets up for you guys to look at. i expect it to look like a cliff face...

oh, and i running an f'manage too. definitely more power with it, but not much smoother. need a powerfc or autronics... :D

Sydney kid,

like KamikazeR33 im also looking at HKS 25series for my RB25. Would you suggest a 2530 would be quicker than a 2540 on the street due to higher avg power? also how bout the 2535? would the 2530 still be a better option? CHEERS!

---> ahh just seen you answered in my Hks Gt2530/2535 thread, thanks, you might wanna check it out kamikazeR33.

for it to come in earlier u will have to get different cams and adj cam gears but then u will sacrifice top end!

i still dont see the 2540 make full boost by 3000rpm.

cheers

Ive been researching the 2530's like crazy coz im getting one soon, sydneykid has been very helpful in providing info!

2530 on an RB20:- 220rwkw at 1.1bar boost.

sydneykid tells me 2530 on RB25 = 230rwkw at 1.1bar.

Not huge numbers by dyno comp standards, but with fat torque from very usable levels, should make a damn quick street car that wont leave you hanging around waiting for the power to kick in.

(there seem to have been quite a few threads on HKS GT series stuff lately!)

So, GT2530 on RB20 or 25 with 220+rwkw should be easy 12's, with better than stock drivability (with well tuned ECU), what more would ya want from a street car!?

    • Today, I'm a Breville BES920 tech, new triac board and new 3x way solenoid. Had overheating issues, home RCD tripping when it got warm, and the boiler stayed on when the machine was shut off. Also, usually 3x way solenoid chatter, this is the 3rd time I'm replacing it. Mind you, this machine is 9 year old and send it every day doing at minimum 3x double shots. When the in laws come over to took after my daughter, it will easily see 6x double shots in a single day. Tried to be somewhat compliant, crimped and then used a screw connector over the top. Would have preferred to use heat shrinks.   After all that, turns out all the overheating has damaged the o-rings to the steam tap as well. Ordered new ones, coming soon.
    • Still got it- First time checking sau in a while ahhaha
    • I don't know about that. I can hoon my R32 around - hard launches, high lateral Gs - with <<1/4 tank without any such shenanigans. This with the previous 040 and the current GSS342. I would suspect a fuel line problem. One of the hoses associated with the top of the tank perhaps.
    • This is amazing. Love that you’re giving the boys an intro to cars and off the screens. They probably have an insta for the car and build posts on TikTok for their mates.
    • It is.  Your car works fine with the tank full. If you drive like a Nana it works fine.  You give it a boot full with half a fuel tank, you get surge.  It 100% is a fuel surge issue. Maybe have a look at installing a Hydramat if you don't want to install a surge tank.  https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/
