Hi guys,

just need a bit of verification from skylines addicts!! :) .

A friend of mine had a 260rs built 97'. He said that his engine output std is 233kw@wheels and mine was a 98' only pumps out abt 160kw@wheels before the tune and pwoer Fc upgrade.

I can live with a few kw differences between engine of the same kind but not like 50kw. Now i need you guys to verify wats the engine output fo a STD RB26 DETT? At crank and at wheels please. Thanks guys.

160awkw is about right for a healthy 33 champ

Yea he claims the car is stock std. Everything is std. Actually the car was in quensland cant remeberthe company's name. But he bought it at 49k!! I looked at the car before i bought mine its black but too dear for me so i impoerted in the 260rs myself.

When he told me he was making 233kw i dropped my jaw and i thought that my engine is screwed somehow. But i thought about it if my engine is screwed why didnnt Ben from Racepace picked up the problem. So i told m friend to check his ECU first wheter is an aftermarket ones or not. Before he goes out and buy one.

    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.

    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
