Hi all,

Looking into fuel regs now and i need to make a decision what one i need/should get.

Just purchased a fuel pump/surge tank setup and it's been setup as:

Gtr pump as lift pump

2xbosch 979's externally

2l surge tank

After a decent reg that will be able to do the job of this pump setup. I think i've narrowered it down to 3, so can i get some suggestions as to which one would suit me best, and why. Also if you have any suggestions i'm all ears!

Am looking at buying one of these at the moment as well. IMO the pro series one is a bit over the top for my application anyway. The A1000 and A1000-6 will both happily handle 1000hp which is more than I will ever want for a track car...not really a drag kinda person. I'm going for the A1000 because you can get a bit more flow through it later if required and you can put in adapters to fit to the size of the lines you are using now -6 to -10 etc. And it looks prettier too :) Another cheaper option also is the compact one, p/n is 13105 will not handle as much as the A1000 (even though says up to 1000hp) I have been told there happy to about 800hp.

hmm bit cheaper buying from the states though, the australian aeromotive importer is just up the road from me and I have been quoted 315 for an A1000. Might be able to get them a bit cheaper if we are buying a couple.....

what goes in must go out.

I didn't think this was the case.....Majority of set-ups I have seen have a smaller return line than pressure line......ie. -8 pressure split into x2 -6 into rail and single -6 return line......

cool. just make sure you change your return line to 3/8 pipe. what goes in must go out.

cheers dave

my understanding is:

-8 from pumps under the car splitting into 2x-6 into fuel rail

-8? from fuel rail into reg

-10 from reg back under car

is that correct?

still not sure which reg i need lol

  • 2 weeks later...

sooo can anyone tell me which one would suit me best?

picked my fuel pump/surge tank setup on the weekend (cheers vijay) and ordered my tomei fuel rail on thursday, so all that's left now is to decide on a fuel reg

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
