Hey all,

The other week dad put a new battery in my car. Since then, alot of problems have come up. It's an R32 GTS with an RB20DE btw.

If the car goes over 100km/h, it does that beeping. Now I'm not sure if that is meant to happen or not, but i know on alot of drift movies and stuff I've seen it happens to them too. Just wondering if it just requires the ECU to be tweaked to allow it to go over?

Also, my major problem......

When we first got the car it was fine. But ever since the new battery, when first start my car up and go for a drive it chugs for a while. Almost like kanagaroo hopping. After a while it goes away, probably because the engine is now warmed up. What i don't get though is that it never used to do this. It has only done it since the new battery has gone on :D

Any help would be appreciated asap, as i get my P's tomorrow lol.

oh... dear... god...

either way, it doesnt sound like a battery problem at all... the only real problem with batteries are

FLAT: it wouldn't start if it was

BAD CONNECTION: might be it, check your connections, but i doubt it

SURGE: your new battery might have let out a bit too much power at one point and fried some shit...

all highly doubtful...

your ECU, unless f**ked, doesnt need anything... try a different battery and see if that fixes it... probably your best route of attack...

when i was your age, i had a 1978 honda prelude... had been on this earth twice as long as me...

Thanx for the help DRD.

The chugging has now seemed to stop, but.......

Instead of chugging, every now and then the engine loses power. Like I'll be driving along then it was basically just stop revving and role along, then eventually it'll kick back in. It's strange......

Any help on this aswell? lol

i would say its time to start taking care of that car...

it needs a service... sounds like your coilpacks might be rooted... but it also sounds like you picked this car up for cheap...

take it to someone who knows about them and get them to have a look at it... its gunna cost you money no matter what you do, but this is probably the best thing to do...

    • Both Coils and Loom are OEM from the dealer.  I have not tried the Chinesium AFM. I Might today. Will get a timing gun to check this, to be honest I been meaning to check the timing because everything timing related is as the car came from Japan, being set by whatever shop did the timing 1.5k miles ago. I believe it is running rich all the time actually, as the pops and bangs feels like unburnt mixture in the exhaust. But I will check the pump and regulator. PS also new OEM fuel filter is in during the maintenance before these slew of misfires started. Cas been placed on the same position as it was before removed, same markings that were left by the shop that did the timing before I bought and imported the car. Thank you all for the responses so far by the way. Seems like I need to pay more attention to CAS condition and timing. Will check on that and report back here.

    • Try unplugging the smaller plug from the controller under the parcel shelf. right side when standing at the boot (HICAS controller). It's sort of saved me from the car killing me (HICAS spazzing out),
