Jpowys
Hey guys I’ve recently been lucky enough to get myself a GTR – a 32 Upon buying it, I discovered that there car runs like a dog on cold start. I am wondering whether anyone has any experience with GTRs and cold start issues. Basically it is extremely hesitant when reving any higher than 2.5rpm in the first 5mins of driving. The mechanic I have taken it to is well experienced in GTSTs but not GTRs, but is committed to fixing the issue. He has been working through all the electrical components (including replacing the ecu, afms) trying to isolate the problem. So far he has been unable to identify the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on possibilities for what is causing the issue? Car is running garrett 2560r turbos, apexi pods, and 3.5’ turbo back exhaust. I have tried replacing the stock exhaust and air filters and the problem is the same. I do not have the stock turbos so cannot try replacing these. Any help would be greatly appreciated… Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/166107-cold-start-issue-on-32gtr/ Share on other sites

jake33
an obvious one, but have you checked what oil your using maybe too thick on a cold start. the previous owner may not have changed it in a while or maybe using one thats too thick. i just changed my oil today to a thinner one because of the cold months are closing in. prob not the answer, but you never know..
