I would like to state my progression into the magical world of Skyline ownership!!

I pick my new baby up on saturday...

Im the first Australian owner ... and the previous owner even left doilies on the seats!! i think old people owned it lol ... its a HR32 GTS-T 4dr and it only came into the country 3 weeks ago (supposedly) (i put a message on the fast track forum ... hopefully the info is correct)

I think it runs 7psi ... atleast that what the stock guage says .... but im so excited and i cant wait!!!

Also it only cost me $9500 from a dealer with a 2 year warranty (even if the warranty amounts to rubbish!)

I only really have 1 question ... this is my first turbo car .... how long should i idle it down ?? 30secs? 1 min? also how much is a turbo timer and how much to fit it? or is it easily fitted at home?

Thanks for the info in advance :laughing-smiley-014:

yes..another welcome to the 4 door club! Looks nice and clean. Priority would be to get it insured and also a decent alarm/immobiliser. Then you can go on with a nice set of wheels, exhaust, ECU, new turbo, FMIC, etc etc hahahah..you get my drift....the mod bug will soon bite you hard :P

Seeing as you are in QLD, get in contact with Chris Rogers on this forum if you need an honest mobile installer who will do a good job at a good price!

Congratulations mate!! Welcome to the world of Skylines and Turbos... mate... 1 minute is a good turbo timer time if you've had a good run... if not, then just 30 seconds is fine...

Moreover, with turbos remember to let it warm up for at least 1 minute before you jet off...

Laterz,

    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
