Hi Guy's I am looking to buy a blue screen Apexi AVC-R. I am saving up for a cooler and I cannot afford to buy the AVC-R brand new so I thought if anyone had one going for a decent price that is like new, it would fit my situation great.

Once I get my cooler i'd like to be able to adjust my boost hence my reason for wanting an AVC-R.

Thanks

Mark

get in touch with supra_man, and see what price he can getya for a new one, i know that's not what u want, but i'm buying a new safc2 of him and it's cheaper then a secondhand one that people are advertising in the forsale section. (e.g. $300 cheaper then the RRP).

Just a though, i'm still waiting for a reply as well for how much it'll cost me for one of those, if'ya get a reply can u forward the price onto me?

Ehh skysaresilver thankyou very much for that valuable info!!!

I will definetly go ahead and find out, because new is always better than second hand :P

thanks heaps buddy

ohh i'll definetly let you know if i get a reply about ur safc.

What does a safc do?

na i've already ordered and paid for the safc, i'm wanting to get what your getting, but i'm still waiting for a price from supra_man.

just do a search on "safc " or "safc2" - they'll tellya what u want to know, otherwise just visit the apexi site.

APEXi S-AFC II (Air/Fuel Ratio Controller)

Latest Model

The SUPER AFC II is a vehicle specific fuel computer that modifies the air flow meter / pressure sensor signal and allows the user to either enrich or lean out the fuel mixture. Adjustment ranges from +/- 50%. It now boasts a 12 point adjustable fuel curve with 200rpm increment setting points. The Super AFC II allows the user to protect settings using the password option. Control is via a single 4 direction centre push button, eliminating the distance between buttons as on the previous model. It also cures the erratic idle problems associated with open atmosphere blow off valves on hot wire air flow meter equipped vehicles. Monitor mode shows analog meter face, Y graph display, Numerical Display, peak hold, Replay mode, 1 point / 10 point and ghost map tracing. All correction factors are also displayed in percentages. All values and graphs are displayed through the exclusive VFD (Vacuum Flurorescent Display) screen.

Hope this helps guys !!

Ok, this is what I meant to cut and paste !!!

APEXi AVC-R Boost Controller

The AVC-R is the ultimate closed-loop boost controller. It is the only boost controller on the market that boasts an integrated injector pulse monitor and an RPM specific "self learn" mode that allows it to memorise the boost characteristics of a particular vehicle and adjust the pressure accordingly.

To control boost, the AVC-R uses a high quality solenoid valve as opposed to a stepping motor. This is the same technology that was used on the turbocharged Honda F-1 race cars. These solenoid valves are proven to control boost more accurately and are much sturdier in design and construction than a stepping motor.

Features:

Two preset boost levels (e.g. High & Low) plus ability to switch OFF.

RPM specific boost setting (8 points of adjustable boost level at 500 RPM increments)

RPM specific solenoid valve duty cycle (8 points of adjustable duty cycle at 500 RPM increments)

Self learning solenoid valve duty cycle (when boost is stable and throttle position is over 85%)

Scramble Boost (Allows boost to be increased or decreased for a selectable amount of time)

Start duty control for fine tuning

Vacuum Fluorescent Display screen shows analog meter faces, Y graph display, numerical display, peak hold or replay mode.

    • Hi all, considering clutch upgrade to support 1130 engine hp from 1650cc injectors on e50 at 85% duty cycle (1650 x (11.85/14.7) x 85%). Narrows down to these three as they can be converted to use gm 26 spline input shaft if I ever want to use transmission with that input shaft (orc1000f and r3c easy/cheap just change center hub; tr2cd pricier must change clutch discs). Pricing orc1000f similar to tr2cd, r3c about usd 200 pricier. Orc1000f triple plate 200mm. Tr2cd twin plate 215mm. R3c triple plate 215mm. Claimed max torque : orc 1000f 723 lbs ft; tr2cd 800 lbs ft; r3c 1100 lbs ft. Why orc1000f triple plate but claims lower max torque vs tr2cd twins? Is orc1000f underrated? Any info maxing out these clutches? Info on street/traffic driveability/pedal feel? Thank you for any info on them.
    • Some troubleshooting, connect up a timing light/gun with a proper ignition lead on coil 1. Hold the revs at 4~4500rpm and see if your timing is all over the shop, scattering off its tits. If so, there's a high chance your CAS is fked. But I read you have a Link ECU ready to go in, why not just skip all this and put that in - will make troubleshooting so much easier.
    • Misfires when the car is fully warm are generally attributed to the coils (and/or the igniter, on cars with a separate igniter). They can stop working properly when they get hot for a number of reasons. Either electric/electronic, or from thermal expansion opening up gaps and allowing HV leakage. Seeing as you have replaced the coils, that could/should rule them out. But I wouldn't always assume so. Were the coils genuine? Or is there a chance you have bought some counterfeit Chinesium shit? Then we're back onto loom connections. They can fail when warm/hot for the same reasons. Inspections, cleaning of contact surfaces, ensuring that terminals are fully inserted, etc etc, are all justified. The same (heat effects) holds true for the other electrics and their connectors. AFM & CAS, primarily. If you try that Chinesium AFM, drive it around on low load until it is properly hot, but do'nt give it more load than you have to, except when you need to see if it will still miss. I'm dead serious about the untrustworthiness of the calibration of those copy AFMs. Injectors are unlikely to get hot unless the fuel is coming back around hot. You could try squirting them with compressed air or freeze spray to cool them back down to see if they are maybe the cause.
    • Alright, all the plugs looks good. Noticed that it starts to get bad when the car is up to temp, that's when things starts to misfire hard. next to do is Injector cleaning and such. Got in touch with a shop to do work on the injectors next Monday also help on diagnosis.
