Mandurah --> Hillarys Coastals + Food/beer

Recommended Posts

G'day all,

WAKustomz is running a Coastals cruise on Sunday the 27th from Mandurah to Hillarys via Rockingham and Freo coast and we'd like to extend our invitation to you all to come with us for a bit of socialising and fun  We've invited various clubs along and interest is looking pretty good, although our aim is just to have everyone enjoy a chilled out day, not to break records with numbers.

If you're the owner of a tastefully modified car or lucky enough to call 'shotgun' in your mates bombed ride then we'd love to see you at one of the selected meet points on the day (preferably the first if time permits) and enjoy a bite to eat at the Breakwater and a beer or 2 over the afternoon.

Details as follows:

"Meet Doddies 10am for 10:30 leave

Arrive at Rocko foreshore 11:00am for 11:15 leave

Arrive at E-Shed markets 11:45 for 12:00 leave

Arrive at Hillarys whenever, haha.

I'm taking into account that Sunday drivers will probably hold us up a little from Rocko to Freo but we'll wait around til that time if we get there early, and put the thong into it if we're running late!

If anyone will be at Rocko or Freo meet points, could you please A) Wait roadside with a camera to get rolling shots of individual/grouped cars and B) sling me your mobile number in private so I can inform someone if we are behind schedule.

Cheers all, see you on the day!!!

Dan

For those interested in coming to the first point, it's along Mary St Hallshead :) The second point in Rockingham will be just past the main grassed area on the left hand side, heading North :)

Would love to see a bunch of you down for the day, it's looking to be a lot of fun. And CB's more than welcome on the day. I think I'm gonna go buy one just so the drunk girls riding shotgun in my car can keep the masses entertained!

All the best, see you there

Dan

Cheers Jays!!

Yeah you can definitely meet from Freo, that's why I threw up ETA's of other points for those who aren't able to get to Mandurah that early in the morning. Some of us are so blessed to live there :P

Stoked to get some interest from you all ;) It's looking to be a promising day and we'll have a few people manning the cameras and video's at E-Shed so that's great news!

Lunch at the Breakwater just incase I didn't mention that before. Hopefully they can cater for us, haha!!

I've got a mobile number from one of the lads at Street Commodores so if we're running late to get to E-Shed due to unforseen circumstances I can contact him (not whilst driving :P ) and let him know we'll be a tad late. If you guys can't find him and his nice looking VX GTS waiting to cruise then feel free to PM me your number and I'll hit you up with some details should things go pear shaped along the way! Just don't want anyone leaving thinking its cancelled when it's not

Cheers all,

Dan

Hey all, had a few very nice Skylines rock up yesterday, not sure if they were from here or not but I'd like to shout out a big thanks for the support. I know the weather wasn't perfect but the amount of tough cars we had waiting for us at E-shed and the final combination at Hillarys was superb!

Shenron - Was that your chick filming all the cars as they pulled out?? Any photos/movies from yourself?? Here's a quick few that my bro took. He hasn't posted them all up so if you're chasing any, let me know!

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
