All the details are the same as the last skid day, but here they are again anyway..

Cost is $100, for 8 hours.

You get FREE BBQ lunch and FREE drinks all day for you and your wife or mate.

You also get Free tuition from a qualified instructor.

Tuition is built into the day as part of the day and is open to everybody,

however one on one tuition is available to anybody who asks..

We run these days to have heaps of fun and learn some cool tricks while we are there.

The day is open to everybody who can drive, and we do prefer cars with boost and an LSD..

The skid pan is wet with water only(as per RoadCraft rules)

so sliding around on it does not have an adverse effect on your tyres or drive train.

This is a prepaid event, so book early.

This is also a closed event...

The gates are opened for any customers wishing to get fuel, food or any other reason!

Feel free to ask any questions..

If you are interested, PM!

Cheers. Aaron

The QLD SAU guys had a great day when they came on their day.

RevHead and I are already working out a date for another SAU day.

When a date has been set, I will post it up, and like before, RevHead will be taking control of the bookings.

I'm sure some will be glad to brag about how well they went! LOL.

I am proud to say that both 3intheback and I agree that the SAU guys were very easy to work with, and very well behaved.

It's a pleasure to have any SAU members attend our skid days.

Even members that have attended on our regular days have been great!

Bring on the next skid day! woohoo!

Aaron

If the guys that have been skidding, want to be a lot better for the next skid day..

Then attending on July 28 will get your skill level up higher, quicker!

Then when you go to the SAU day, you will be better than the rest of them! lol!

Has Anna bolted her prize into the boot yet? She did VERY well! Make sure u rotate it every 6 months!

Otherwise they don't work when u need them!

Did you guys like the car wash? I was thinking of asking them back again.

I would like to mention a few others that improved during the day.. but.. hmm.. well it was all of you!

I would also like to point out, the cars with softer suspension were quicker than the rock hard versions.

The GTR's had 4wd, but they were REALLY working to keep up!

Aaron

If you're reading this and have never been to one of these skidpans, i strongly encourage you to attend it. Otherwise, you don't know what you're missing out on, both on fun and learning more about driving.

You went on Friday yes? I'm pissed I didn't get to see you drive, would have been good. You were mentioned as the 'guy with the well modded white skyline' :)

Your a thread Hi-jacker Ska! Lol.

Just yew wait till yew zee the numbah I do on yaw vagon! I fix it real goowd yaar..

As you can see, everybody is wanting a peice of this skidding pie..

I better let the local rocals know they are being beaten to the start line!

I want to book an earlier date just so J-Boy can come back.. but they are all booked out!

PM sent to RevHead RE the next SAU day.

The date should be finalised very soon. Hopefully by the end of this week.

I will post up the SAU date i bold letters when all is confirmed!

RevHead will start another thread in the members section. watch out for it!

Don't come sooking to me if you miss out..!

Aaron

One of the clubs i had booked in just pulled out.

RevHead and I are in discussions about using that date for an earlier skid date!

Express your interest to Revhead.. Sorry, but its for members only.

I wish to have the date/dates all sorted out this week. Watch this space for news!

J-boy, you may skid again yet!

Yea Tim, spots are filling VERY fast..

I just added 3 more names!

There are only 2 spots left!

Anna, how many bottles u opened? lol.

Can somebody tell Mel that she will need to rotate the fire killer every 6 months. I do mine on Christmas day and my on wifes birthday. That way, should the worst happen, I know at least it will work.

I don't think all my regular skidders are aware of the numbers yet.. But first in, first served.

Ok, now RevHead has decided to take the June 23 day I had spare!

If you wish to attend the SAU exclusive skid day, contact him for bookings.

Sorry, but the day is only open to SAU members.. Book early, the spots will not last long.

Same deal as last time..

Aaron

So every body understands what we are on about..

The ethos of our skid day is this...

Grab your street car..

grab some fuel and your mate,

go to the skid pan and scatch an ich..

Drive your car as it is..

learn how it acts and reacts on a slippery wet surface.

Have some fun...

Talk to some of the other drivers,

have some more fun.

Get some tuition.

Learn what your car is asking of you..

have some more fun scratching that ich,

skid around and play a bit more,

if the need arises, grab a free soft drink.

Now you are starting to get an idea of what is happening,

Get some more tuition..

Learn some new skills,

then, hone your new skills,

put new skills into practice.

Grab a snag off the BBQ and eat a burger.

just for a difference, do a a bit more skidding.

try not to smile so hard that it hurts!

After about 3 skid days like this.. you will catch onto what we are on about!

Cheers.

Aaron

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
