also, does the stock bov in the gtst give off a nice loud pshhhht?

thanks

Hey man,

If your looking for a clean R32 GTS-T ready for you to do mods, why dont you buy mine? Im selling it for $7,600, ive dropped the price down heaps because the drivers side window is not working (cabling is caught) and also I am getting a work car and at the momment im better off with one car financially.

I have a new RB20DET engine in mine and its pretty good, good enough to beat a VS stock. I reckon if you added a intercooler and tweaked with the boost it'll be a killer engine (for a budget mod). The car is pretty stock so its up to you if you want to make it a high end performer, but I can say now its pretty quick! The stock turbo is excellent, boost smooth and sounds good when you drive (spool + exhaust + bov = nice) :ermm:

Exterior is pretty clean too. New tyres. Registered.

Let me know if your keen.

- If your ford fairmont auto gives you a "rush" then when you get an r32 gts-t you are in for a treat. I drive my parents 3.5lt v6 magna (150kw) and it is resonably responsive but the power from my car leaves it for dead.

- My 32 gts-t when completely stock (except for a very shit and cheap cat back which I am sure was not helping performance at all - its long gone now) did 0-100km/h in 6.57 seconds with a G-tech metre. Show me a VS commodore v6 that close to that.... they are shit slow, so are the supercharged variants and even the 5.0litre V8 would be on par with a 32 but quite possibly slower (especially auto)

- An r32 gts-t weighs 1320kg..... a VS commodore is over 1500kg.... your mates sound well informed!!

- A cat back exhaust does shit all other than change the sound of your car. An exhaust is only as good as its thinest piece. If you pump water through a series of pipes the water can only get through as fast as the thinest pipe will allow...same goes for exhast gas out the back of your car! The quicker you get used gases out of the engine the quicker you can bring in new air and petrol! That is why a turbo back 3" the whole way is required and will give a noticeable power increase as it did in my car.

- That "pshhhht" sound will always be there because the turbo has a blow off valve but in a dead stock car it is relatively quiet. Put a pod filter ($50 - $100) on and you will hear it much louder and with the exhaust its better again.

- This site has lots of info so the more you look around it and read various posts the more you will learn. If you are budgeting $10k for your r32 that is fine but it will not be perfect, i.e - paint might be f*ked, or engine has had it, etc etc so in my opinion such a car is not "clean", but as you go you can fix it up the way you want it and it will become better.

BEST OF LUCK

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
