Hey guys,

Does any one have any idea if the front callipers from a R33 GTS25t or R34 Gt-t will bolt onto the V35?

Being a 2005 Coupe, I don't have the Brembo's, and I though if they can bolt on, the 4 piston callipers from the older Skylines might be a nice cheap upgrade for both performance and looks.

Any thoughts?

Mate if u want to wait till next week ill be pulling the calipers off my 33 race car this weekend to stick on the 35.. ill let u know how it goes.

I'm not in any kind of rush so that sounds great. Someone actually doing it is much better than taking a guess. :-)

Any idea on what such a swap would do to the break balance of the car. In my case if all is good and I go ahead, would moving from 2 pistons up front to 4 pistons, mean I would need to correct soemthing in the rear?

I personally dont think it would overally effect it, i drove my 33 round with non turbo rear brakes for ages on the street and its still that way now that its a full drag car with no worries, but dont quote me.

wisshing i hadnt sold the twin pot rears now though :(

Oh and cheers for the heads up on those rims mate ill check em out.

The Brembos come up for sale on a regular basis, especially from Z33 owners going to a big brake kit.

I got mine for $2500 with calipers, rotors and OEM pads...and that was over a year ago. Price should have dropped since then. I've seen quite a few people selling just the front calipers as well, so its also an idea.

Ok had it up on the hoist today, fitting the new coilovers.. The fronts are only SINGLE PISTONS!! i couldnt beleive it... But it doesnt look like 33 calipers will fit just by a quick look... there is a thread on here somewhere saying that it is possibl to fit 34 GTR calipers?? i think... either way im now looking at the G4 8 piston kit with 330mm rotors for 2300 from a mob in melbourne i think.. but it doesnt help for the rears..?? im really at loss as i cant seem to find many 350z brembos about... and im guessing to purchase them with some decent rotors ud be reaching the cost of teh 8 piston kit anyway...

Yahoo! Japan auctions should have them coming up.

And, like I said, $2500 for used Z33 Brembos. If you were to buy a new BBK from anyone else other than G8 (not a big fan of their products, their QC is shit, and my brakes are a component I don't want to be using unreliable parts on) $2500 wouldn't get you front calipers or rotors for the Z. The stock rotors, also being Brembo, are quite "reasonable" from a performance perspective.

I called around before I bought the Brembos, and most front kits were $4K from the reputable manufacturers (AP Racing, Brembo, etc). Going BBK all round was up around $8K.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
