Hi there,

has anyone ever bent a release lever? i was at Wakefield yesterday and during the last session i could'nt change gear without crunching. To get home i had to adjust all the free play out of the pedal , even after that i still have to push the pedal extremely hard against the floor to be able to change gear.So if you've had this problem before please let me know did you just repair the bent one or replace it or repair and strengthen it?cheers

btw it isnt air in the fluid it has been bleed with new fluid!

Hey Plynx,

Yes i have a heavy duty Exeedy clutch and pressure plate its been in there for probably two years or more, ive never had a problem with it, but i have noticed that the take up of the clutch seems to change sometimes lower sometimes higher not by much, the free play remained the same thou. I could'nt see any problems in the pedal area while i was adjusting the free play out to get me home from the track,i might take another look.........i think im going to pull the box out and rebend the lever then strengthen it with some welded ribs.

thanks for your reply. cheers

Brother ! My car had excatally the same clutch and it was also in for about the same time before it went and it was the clutch pedal box. I took it to a couple of clutch places and the reconed that I bent the new clutch when I put in the 3ltre conversion. Charged me an extra $350 to rebotton the old excedy and put it back in. All they did then was adjust the clutch rod up to the max and gave it back. Lasted about 2 days ! Took the car to another clutch place for a second opinion. They said it was either the master cylinder or slave cylinder. Recoed them as well ! Took it back again and was ready to kill people when the guy got upside down under the car and spotted the busted spot welds on one side of the pedal box thats why it was only partly working very much like yours ! Took it out myself and fully weilded it up and that fixed the bastard ! If you need a hand with it let me know I be happy to help a brother out. Ive also got a spare leaver that I was going to box in for extra strength. Rebending it might give you stress fractures and youll be back where you started.

Thanx Plynx,

You were right, so you can say "i told ya so" again lol, cant thank you enough so i'll return the favour when the 3litre is ready to go in, call me and i'll be there.cheers brothersan
