Mate, I got a device similar to this, and it's saved my ass more than once already.

Remember they have to catch you with it on the dash, powered up.

They arn't contraband altogether, but the cash and points they save are more than the outlay for sure.

i have a similiar detector, what EXACTLY is the legality, mine is a window mounted one with a power supply, so if i unplug it and they see it there they cant do shit? cause i usually just shit my pants and hide it if i see a copper

You should check #2 of the NSW section, next time check your facts before you blurt out bullshit as gospel.

Seems you need to take a leaf out of your own book...

READ what I said!! -----> "" QUOTE; "They arn't contraband altogether, " <--- emphasis on the wording..!!

I HAVE BEEN STOPPED, AND I HAVE STILL GOT IT...

In any case, use your judgement is my advice. We are all posting out opinions, I can't quote the law, because from what I gather, it is a bit of a grey area .... I am told.!

BTW...

My scribblings were personal experience, and are my opinion, please direct you extraordinary command of written english more articulately....

...... think carefully before you consider the use of expletives, this is a forum of opinions and ideas only. A place where like minded, or similar people can have "friendly" banter, or merely procure advice or assistance.

Well maybe next time you should say "in my experience" instead of stating that they have to be on and in use before it is illegal, which quite clearly is wrong, even if they think you are using one that gives them the right to search you car for one, has happened many times before, there is no grey area, apart from WA they are illegal in every state.

I am sick of seing people who think they know what there talking about stating something that is clearly not true, posts like yours can screw someone over pretty bad if they believe it, a lot more so than any "expletive" i use in a thread read by adults.

Ok, points taken, but I am not sure if I know you, but surely a little respect is due, as I don't intend to retort in a similar manner.

I am actually quite correct in the part about catching you with one etc... surely you must agree there?

Next part is also correct... "they are not completely contraband"

It has saved my rear a few times is also fact.

Money outlaid against possible large fines and court costs is also a fact, ....it is less.

I am sorry, but I cant agree with you, they are all facts, and true. !!!

As far as I understand, this area/forum is like many others, it is a place for discussion, and ideas, and nothing is ever "cast in stone here"

My guess is that all, or shall we say, nearly all writings herein are experiences we have endured, and proferring this to like-minded adults is all part of the community.

I never stated I was the Authority on this matter at any point you must understand.

You will find in life there are many opinions, and one does have to sort out the "Corn from the Chaff". NO matter what is written in this forum, or any other for that matter, and none is likely to be any firm basis, legally or otherwise, to be 100% accurate, and one must also understand this. To quote my ramblings, or any other ramblings as suitable defence in a court of law is merely futile in my estimation.

Yeah, I do believe in facts, but I do not think your retort was justified. There is more than one way to reply without being offensive, especially when we are strangers.

I suggest you take a good read through many forums, and take note of what is 100% un-disputable fact, and what is not.

Look, I am not having a pop here, but I don't really appreciate the reply, one could have been more articulate,.. adult forum or not. I believe there are a few paragraphs written to all at the opening pages, and I agree that if one cant be friendly, then best not to say too much. I regularly read this forum, along with many others, and there can quite a few mis-leading entries, but I don't jump in feet first.

If my opinion and experiences offend you, then I appologise, but that is as far as it goes.

This forum is a mine of knowledge, and I enjoy reading through it, whether it be absolute jibberish or not.

    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
