Does anyone else get to this part of the game and go Fu***it. Just too boring. I dont play the game much so I would pause it and play it like 4-7 days later.

Also Does anyone have the steering wheel for it? Is it worth getting?

I find this is the best driving game on PS2 but if anyone can name some others let me know cause i want something different.

Love this game, have spent many many hours playing it. I was up to 94%. only had 2 endurance races and a few driver missions to go, and my sisters boyfriend decided to take the memory card and delete the save game file. Anyone who has played the game will understand just how much time is involved in getting about 60 or so percent let alone 94! i have started again and im sitting on about 6% now :D

Also, a hint to everyone out there trying the endurance races, Use B spec driver, Put the hardest tyres you can on the car( they last alot longer), Then do to the director's screen and fast forward to 3X the speed, this means a regular 24hour race will only take 8 hours, only problem is when he pits it goes back to the normal screen and normal speed to remember to keep checking up on it.

Most probly already new all that but maybe sum1 didnt :D

That sux, I hate people. I had a similar thing happen to me, I was about 70% through and my PS2 decided it would not read the memory card anymore so i had to start from scratch, this was early this year I think and i am now at 88%.

I just get endurance races going with about 5-10 laps and then let B-Spec do it, I check back later (if not run over night) and if he's doing poorly I take over again for a bit :). Thing is I have more milage on my B-Spec than A-Spec.

Back in the high school days, me and my cousin would do 4hr splits each until we finished an enduro... Mind you, both of us were inevitably far less busy than we are now... :P miss the old GT2 days... :)

use the b-spec mode so you dont have to do the whole race, thats what its there for

Winner.

Easiest way to win money on that game! Get the race version 350z, do the 24hour nurbergring (sp), set it to b spec, turn the tv off, turn it on again after 24 hours and you've won the f1 car, sell the f1 car and rake in the riches

i think its called 'Special Conditions' in that section of races, you do the 2nd from the top rally,i can confirm thisarvo when i get home, but yeh you do that race then you do the same track backwards just against usually a Lancia or 4wd celica thing both stock once you do both of them u gather about 10,000

then cause you won both races you win some toyota RS rally car worth about 250,000 to sell.

Probly not worth as much as the F1 car but only takes about 5minutes,,,,id say half my playing time would be done on this track.i use this track to test my new cars.

The Endurance races do suck but i;ve done a few,i never thought of the B-spec even though ive used it before, but not for the endurance, anyway i just usually do it in like 10 lap intervals, try to get some friends to help even your girlfriend.lol mines crap but if you get far enough ahead she does alright.

i do that track all the time as well to sell that rally car and get some fast money. i own heaps of cars and always test them on that track.its a good game when your bored and you feel like playing it and you drive all your different cars and then buy new ones. i think i own every skyline on it as well. the r34 gtr r tune is good and so is 'Mines' r34. the thing is though i bought a nismo r32 gtr s tune and the year said 2000 is that true?

i think i may have that same 32gtr,mines black and it actually has a big exhaust sticking out instead of the poxy stocker. Not sure if they really did release 1 in 2000.

its fun hammering 2nd and 3rd up those skinny winding roads in that rally course,it pulls so hard up the hill you cant even steer.

I haven't ventured into the european section yet.

    • Yeah the rule of thumb with an LS is 7psi per 1000rpm. That is decidedly not enough at 6800rpm. I mainly looked for the scenarios where knock started to be picked up and it was later in the session when things were hotter, and oil was thinner, and the pressure was lower than it should be. (i.e very horrible). I am hoping with thicker oil (I was running Penrite ten tenths 10-40, the manual specifies 10-30) that does not leak that it's much improved at that time!!! I am using Project Mu Club Racer CR pads. I'm also using the Project Mu 335C fluid. The symptoms imply that it was fluid that boiled, but no bubbles seemed pretty weird to me when I bled it today. I want to try Castrol SRF as it has a much higher wet temp but, well, I have new Project Mu fluid lol... so I should at least use that. The pedal on track was really noticable. It went from basically normal feeling to instantly near-floor. The car did pull up as before, it was just very much nearly at the floor before the brakes engaged. At that point I pretty much decided the day was very done, it did *kinda* come back during that very slow cooldown lap into the pits. Felt perfectly fine driving home.
    • f**king around with the bro
    • Ludenham   44.2 tops day no issues
    • Then today, I went to visit a man with an r33 hat Peter and Road and Race sorted the alignment. As it is being set up for general track/hillclimbs etc it has a heap of caster (7o), less camber than I am used to (1o front and 2o rear, as the caster looks after that in turns without the braking downsides), 3mm front toe out and 0 toe rear. Will see how that goes and track tyre wear to see if it does need more camber, but adjsustment is also limited with nismo arms and adjustable bushes at only 1 end. It does have a bent inner tie rod on the driver's side front but as it came up within spec I'll just leave that as is. So, that is getting close to my chapter of this story....could of tidy ups then a shakedown in early October before it finds a new home.
    • So, it went to Unigroup for a run in and tune on Friday, everything went (generally) well. In terms of fixes, the engine was good and there were no leaks. It needed plugs (I hadn't checked them because the coil pack cover was on a new engine and I couldn't imagine they weren't new.....but turns out the temporary plugs to just keep it sealed up were in there.....new plugs gapped to 0.8 and it was fine from there. Also, there was a little preload on the clutch slave which caused some slip. I haven't had the box off so I don't know what the clutch looks like; my guess it is brand new and the pedal had not been adjusted....backed that off a bit and it held fine. Last thing will have Dose crying....the idle especially when cold is a bit difficult between the cams, forward plenum, atmo blow off valve and an 80s air management system. It is fine when hot but a little uneven when cold, will see if I can sort or at least improve that one cold morning. Other than that, tuning went fine. It made 245 but was pulled back to 227 which 2 opportunities to improve in future. 1. The factory CAS is not great and was jumping around at high RPM, so Mark took 2 degrees out up top (that is why it stops making power and lost 20kw). Very safe this way and the extra power is available but will require a more modern ECU and better cam (or even better crank) sensor 2. The 2871 in factory housings is very big for a low mount, and the internal wastegate is too small, so it was creeping from mid range all the way to redline....the duty cycle on the boost controller is turned down a little for safety. That is much harder to fix, it would need a large external gate and that would require a whole bunch of other changes, so it will go as it is for now. It feels nice and healthy and safe, so should be good for about a billion laps like this.
