Hi,

I cant figure out how to install my GFB boost controller.... It seems that there are extra boost lines running into the power steering pump and i am somewhat confused. It it were a RB25DET non Neo engine i would be fine....but the Neo 6 is something completely different.

Any r34 owners out there that may be able to assist me please? I am sure someone has installed a boost controller on a R34 Neo motor... Perhaps even a photo of ur setup and i will just duplicate it.... anything..... please... :D

find a line before the wastegate actuator.. plumb in before that.. aslong as the only line to the wastegate is in the path of the boostcontroller ull be fine.

Plenum/cooler piping vacuum line > boost controller > waste gate actuator.. :D

Thanks for the reply. I do understand what you have written above, and i did that on my last car.... the only thing (problem) i am having at the moment is the weird hose running to the power steering pump...its T-Peiced into the boost solenoid for some reason.... I just dont want to remove it or cut it if it is there for some reason...and i think it is.

Any further ideas?

I am serious..... dead set....no idea what would happen if i pulled it off....and i am not about to try doing it.

Someone must own an R34 on this forum and has installed a boost controller....someone...anyone...

yes the R34 do have that.. disregard that.. thats just a vacuum line to the PS pump from the throttle body from memory.. just plumb it in before the wastegate and from a line from the throttle body.. we didnt touch the PS pump lines..

if ur southside of brisbane i could give u a hand if u need.

but ur name suggest other wise.

are you talking about the electronic stock boost solonoid next to the power steer pump resovoir ? diconnect both , wack ur GFB controller in between as Marki has suggested..

P.S i have a GFB controller as well post up the pics tonite when i get home :P

sorry to kidnap the thread, but i noticed wehn i put in my front mount, that their was a vacuum line running from the intercooler pipe, down the front and into something... i just T'd this off onto a nother vacuum line as the new piping didnt have this attachmet..

have i dont this right?

yes it is

basically u have 2 or 3 from the throttle that should be linked to the charcoal can and the turbo but it will not be a line that would lead to the intake pipe etc.. if u t piece any of them any that have charged air or a vacuum ull be fine. i personally do it that way. or... on the Neo engine right next to the acc valve ther is a bunged off line that is used for the map sensor on the RB20 engines. u can use that for ur boost gauge as it will give the most accurate reading.

return hose is that what we call it on the nissan side.. we called it charged and negative. some crap like that lol..

hybrid kits are ok.. too exy for not much more than a GKtech kit and just shy of a TRUST spec kit.. not worth it imo.

HD industries have a nice new kit out :thumbsup: delta fin core (same as what i have on the type x.. none of this crappy bar and plate poop)

i was looking at my r34 as im going to get a boost controller. ive done a r33 bc, the connection on those is on the cooler pipe which goes to the plenum & the other on the wastegate. i noticed on the neo however stock the connection is not on the cooler pipe its plugged into the pipe right near the turbo which makes its way to the intercooler.... so does it still work all the same??

well just like marki said the PS vaccum line wack a T pce in there to plumb it back into the vaccum line .. then wack the boost controller between the wastegate line as pictures..

i dont want to T off the ps vacuum..the stock set up isnt coming from that...... i see the wastegate/actuator connection in the pic........ now for the other connection to manifold ic piping will it be alrite to connect to how the stock one connects???... even easier would it work if u removed the two hoses which go in to the stock solinoid and plug it up there leaving the t piece and other connection in place??

    • Hi all,   long time listener, first time caller   i was wondering if anyone can help me identify a transistor on the climate control unit board that decided to fry itself   I've circled it in the attached photo   any help would be appreciated
    • I mean, I got two VASS engineers to refuse to cert my own coilovers stating those very laws. Appendix B makes it pretty clear what it considers 'Variable Suspension' to be. In my lived experience they can't certify something that isn't actually in the list as something that requires certification. In the VASS engineering checklist they have to complete (LS3/NCOP11) and sign on there is nothing there. All the references inside NCOP11 state that if it's variable by the driver that height needs to maintain 100mm while the car is in motion. It states the car is lowered lowering blocks and other types of things are acceptable. Dialling out a shock is about as 'user adjustable' as changing any other suspension component lol. I wanted to have it signed off to dissuade HWP and RWC testers to state the suspension is legal to avoid having this discussion with them. The real problem is that Police and RWC/Pink/Blue slip people will say it needs engineering, and the engineers will state it doesn't need engineering. It is hugely irritating when aforementioned people get all "i know the rules mate feck off" when they don't, and the actual engineers are pleasant as all hell and do know the rules. Cars failing RWC for things that aren't listed in the RWC requirements is another thing here entirely!
    • I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.
    • The hydrocarbon component of E10 can be shittier, and is in fact, shittier, than that used in normal 91RON fuel. That's because the octane boost provided by the ethanol allows them to use stuff that doesn't make the grade without the help. The 1c/L saving typically available on E10 is going to be massively overridden by the increased consumption caused by the ethanol and the crappier HC (ie the HCs will be less dense, meaning that there will definitely be less energy per unit volume than for more dense HCs). That is one of the reasons why P98 will return better fuel consumption than 91 does, even with the ignition timing completely fixed. There is more energy per unit volume because the HCs used in 98 are higher density than in the lawnmower fuel.
    • No, I'd suggest that that is the checklist for pneumatic/hydraulic adjustable systems. I would say, based on my years of reading and complying with Australian Standards and similar regulations, that the narrow interpretation of Clause 3.2 b would be the preferred/expected/intended one, by the author, and those using the standard. Wishful thinking need not apply.
