Just wondering if anyone has been able to run GTR injectors in a RB20 without running the dropping resistor???

Reason i ask is that there is a topic on NS.com at the moment with a bloke stating he is running GTR injectors in his RB20 and not running the resistor pack as he is using a PFC...

Now i'll be buggered if i can find anywhere in the PFC settings where i can change the impedance of the injectors within the menu's so i dont have to run the resistor pack nor can i find any other information (on SAU or the net) that clarifies it can/has been done :worship:

Can anyone else shed any light on this as im keen if it can be done and how as it would save many of us RB20 owners with a cheap injector mod as its the ballast resistor pack that is the hard thing to come by ;)

You dont have to run the resistor pack

BUT you DO have to run resistors inline to each injector

I realise you dont have to run the GTR ballast but it is required like you said, the person has stated that he is not running any resistors and that it has been changed within the PFC settings.

A resistor pack can be easily made for about $10

Which is what was done on my first 32 ;)

My question isn't about running a GTR ballast or making your own, its if you can get away with not running a resistor at all???

It is possible to start and run the GTR low imp injectors on the rb20 remaped ecu or RB20 pfc without a resistor pack.

BUT.... As rpms increase you most certianly stuff/overheat the injector drivers. Its a matter of WHEN not IF.

First you will smell a little electrical burning smell then the car will die and you will be left stranded with a stuffed extremely rare rb20 pfc. ;)

The microtech's injector drivers are suitable for both high and low imp injectors without a dropping resistor.

The std ecu and powerfc does not.

The PFC is a glorified (knock display, increased load points, faster processor) real time remappable std ecu.

      some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side

      It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers

      I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.

Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
