Rostered Days Off (rdo)

see i thought that was near non existant these days... not many people i know get to carry over there sick leave... some carry over there annual but not all too... we dont... we either use it or get paid out for it at the end of the year.

i dont mind using it... it basically means im off 20 weeks out of the year which is fine with me.

but 2000 hours sick leave!! lol thats insane... my mum had something similar when she worked for the govt in NZ... her annual leave pay out after 20 something years alone was over 150k... then she had sick leave and her long service.

couldnt imagine something like that... i like taking sickies too much

im not on an award i dont think... but i get 5 RDOs off after every 3 weeks if that makes sense

does anyone elses sick leave get carried over?

mine doesnt but my wifes bloody do... ripped off!

mine do carry over but the trick is to use them ALL!

the way an RDO works is like this,

you work a 40 hour week and only get paid for 38hrs. they hold onto the other money and once a month you get a day off coz you have accumulated the hours by not getting paid 2 hrs a week.

i get paid 40 hours pay a week and still get 1 rdo a month....

yeh i get sick leave carried over but if you dont use it and you leave you dont get annything for it. no pay out just lose it,
