^obviously don't read here enough

the sale fell through

to be honest choosing a stagea to be a drifter when you already have two cars seems like you're making hard work for yourself grant, but at the same time it's bloody cool in my eyes.

no one seemed to complain and say it was a dumb idea in this post..

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=drift&st=0

from what i understand grant has some pretty decent power mods planned.

i don't really get why people need to give their 50c every time grant makes a post though? there's other threads with people putting 20x7 (offset not mentioned) chromies on their stagea and people just go on their merry way and answer the question!?

ahh well

i read your post again and it does sound pretty silly, u think u are the only one who bought it to be a high performance car. How about spend less on visual/show parts and buy some engine mods. You mean u want yours to "look" like a high performance car. Ive spent about 4 times the price of my stagea again on performance mods and havent even touched the rims or any bodykits or stuff that doesnt make it faster, or perform better. RBNT and rb26stagea have done the same so i dont know how u can think your lightly modded rb25 is the only performance built stagea.

i agree with rb26stagea your opinions do come across as confrontational

i hope this doesnt offend im just stating my opinion

and i said track car i believe..as in drive on teh track and not a straight line

do i need to post my mod list?

300-350hp is plenty for my application which is my goal

The only thing not done is the turbo installed....

and i neither have put a body kit on it

but 9inch wide wheels to help it grip in the front better

But you guys are building it slightly different

your building it as a fast straight line car (from waht i can tell)

Im building a drift car....two different worlds

i dont need the power yall do.

http://www.xcceleration.com/leg-index.html

and forrester stuff like i promised

this was in no way of an attack, or witty way to f**k with you guys

i was genuinely wondering about it

and unique

2 or 3 people in the stagea section spending that much cash on their stag, puts them in the same league as me, rare apparently

no worries Grant i must admit i havent been regulary visiting the stagea forums for a fair while and only knew bits and pieces (and heard u sold it at one stage). Ive been on these forums since the first couple of stagea owners and i think terminal is one of the longest members on here still with his car, the rest have sold up and moved on. I joined way back in october 04 and had the car for 2 weeks before i did the rb26 conversion and the snowball has gone from there. Ive had many usernames over the time due to the moderators in another section and some workshop issues but thats all in the past and they dont want to let me forget it lol.

jasevr4 i thought forums were about having opinions? sorry if i dont read this forum like a bible and know every single millimetre of detail :)

zo are you going to tell all the guys with chasers and other 4 doors that drift, and build them that they arent sports cars as well?

Its a Sport wagon

not a ford escort wagon

or a festiva

And i disagree with the travel distances

I have constently put 2-3,000 km a month on my cars

there are MANY 4 doors and wagons (forester anyone?)

that are built to be race cars

many

Do not mention the (f) word.

My Stag is a virtual stocker. The S13 is the highly modded drifter.

I read somewhere that Nissan built the Stagea to combat the inroads the turbo Legacy was making on sales in Japan.

Have you ever seen a race Legacy?

At what level Hugh?

Because I've seen a lot of Legacy's, WRX hatches, Foresters used as club rally cars and as club circuit cars, and on just the track only Stageas and Legnums too..

each to their own

horses for courses

different strokes for different folks

etc etc

keep at it Grant me boy!

and no, you cant groom me for online 'chat' sessions :laughing-smiley-014:

As a "touring wagon" with style, functionability and a bit of grunt. Remember I got rid of my Forester caus it was the worst vehicle I ever bought. I bought the Stag so we could be a Nissan SSS family. Stagea, Skyline and Silvia. We also have a Patrol.

I think the reasons Stageas are not seen much as rally cars is that they are too heavy and if bent cost a motza to repair.

yessir

i saw a grip one at Nikko one day

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
    • Hi Everyone I am from West Pennant Hills in NSW. Been too busy until recently to attend to my RB25DET Series 2 engine until recently. I am planning to stick it into the S15 shell at this stage, unless a nice SR20DET turns up... For now, i am going to try and get the RB25 running and working well then decide what gearbox to use. My preference is to retain the SR20DET  6 speed gearbox and tail shaft to retain as much and least modifications as i can avoid. I am an old guy and won't be doing any heavy drifting so i don't need a bullet proof gearbox Does anyone have experience with starting the RB on a stand? I got everything setup as much as I can with the info i can find... endless searching and videos on Youtube I would be great to get some pointers Cheers Songo
    • Hey all, Recently have had my s1 r33 gtr serviced and noticed my coolant reservoir was topped up to the max line. Took the car out for 1 yesterday and noticed today the reservoir is completely empty.  Any ideas? Radiator is full
