Ok i've gone though the tutorial about taking off the brake pads.....now its time to put it back on and there doesn't seem to be enough room in between the rotor and the two round thingamajiggy. How do I proceed?

don't have a G clamp, I was told the use of long screw driver to push the pistons back.....which I am having trouble with.

Edit: Having hell of a hard time pressing the pistons back....ARRGGHHHHH

If they like GTR ones of mine, I took one old pad out, and got a gap between the pad on the other side, Got me a big flat blade, and wedged it in the gap between pad and piston.. not rotor, and eased the pistons back, making sure i didn't catch any of the rubber protective boots. I took them to level with the caliper, and that was it, enough room.

Two tips.

1, Do not lever at too great an angle, just ease them in.

2, Make sure the reservoir tank does not overflow

3, If you are applying a hell of a lot of levering, you may bend things, revise your method.

10 minute task finished, and no bent rotor.

as mentioned bfore you have to push the pistons back

depending on how strong you are, you can even push them back in with your fingers but if that fails go get a g-clamp and use that but if your stuck at home now and got nothing else, use a screwdriver and wedge it in between and lever it back but try do it as even as possible to not wreck the piston seals

Succenss!!! ALL DONE!!!!

Thanks all

Was a bitch trying to get the last piston in on both sides......Got piss off with the first one and decided to bleed the whole thing and take it apart. Second time around (the right hand one) it was easier as I got a hang of the art of wedging. The last piston was still a bitch, so I ended still having to drain the whole thing but didn't take it apart this time. All in all, it was fun, bedded the brakes in at normal road speed....(obviously I wasn't going to try the 90 to 20 deceleration in a residential zone) as the neighbours are already giving me the evil eyes after I had a minor lock up at the last attempt. I have to say I am quite pleased with my effort...even though it took me 3 hours for the first set of brake pads....The second one only took 10 minutes.

I encourage all to give it a try!!!

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
