hey ppls

im looking at getting a 33 gtr with some type of microtech piggyback device installed. The wiring at the connector has been hacked up alittle and its still got the stock ecu. Im just wondering though if i just put a powerfc in and turn off the microtech (if u can) will it all work ?? or will i need to fix up the fixing and totaly disable the microtech ??

also i think its running on the MAP sensor ??? cause the AFM's werent plugged in.. does that sound right the piggyback ecu could use a map sensor ??? i wouldnt of thought so... ? how would it be working if the afm's werent connected to the electrical connectors ??

thanks :thanks:

yes a microtech will run a map sensor.

and why would u want to unplug the microtech and use a power FC? it will do the same job if not better i would assume.... y bother pulling a workin after market computer setup 2 plug in another? i mean a PFC $800 worth + install when u have a running microtech sounds like money down the drain 2 me....

Depends on the tuner you want to use... and as i know his choice, i reckon its a good move.

It also sounds like its only a 'interceptor' type ECU set-up with the factory ECU still there.

So best to get the unknown out, and the well-known in IMO.

You also want to learn to weld and machine. If you still want to do this then you'll nominally have the knowledge to actually do what you're thinking of doing. Whether you still want to do any of that once you've actually gone through that process is anybody's guess. Personally I cannot imagine anything more frustrating than trying to package a supercharger under the hood of any of these cars when the turbos are already fighting for every last inch.
    • That's a function of the fuel pressure reg, not the pump. The pump can do more, needs to be able to do more. The reg keeps the pressure in the rail constant above whatever the manifold pressure is.
    • You need enough post count to have PMs enabled. It will come. They are not the same. The NA box is the skinny little box and the turbo box is the big heavy one, and the yokes are not interchangeable.
    • So, you're not talking about rebuilding the dampers, just putting new tops on them? You just need new tops and a spanner.
    • Hi All, Does anyone know how or who (shop) could rebuild my original R32 GTR Nismo struts? These are the OG logo ones that were a factory option back in the day. I've replaced them with aftermarket coilovers which are good, but the OG Nizmo struts tha i bought the car with i feel are amazing, just the rubber tops are worn and would need replacing... Plus it would make it 100 time easier for me to get the GTR fully engineered without adjustable coilovers... I was considering selling the OG suspension, but if i can get them rebuild / refurbished, I would seariously put them back on. Cheers, Tom   p.s. I'm in Sydney by the way and don't mind travelling if need be to get these puppies rebuilt.
