Murray Bridge Australia Day Weekend

Recommended Posts

Press Release 22/10/2007

Murray Bridge Autofest and the Murray Bridge Beach Party Race Day both welcome the inclusion of the Murray Bridge Speedway into the calendar of events planned for this coming Australia Day weekend.

As a group it is planned to promote Murray Bridge with the “All Roads Lead To Murray Bridge” brand and this will be promoted via local media, national motoring publications, interstate Television as well as SA television and radio.

It is foreseen that the Australia Day weekend will be one of the largest on the Murraylands calendar of Events with visitors traveling from most parts of Australia to witness what will be on offer.

The weekend will kick off with the Murray Bridge Racing Clubs “Australia Day Beach Party from 12 noon you will be able to get into the trackside atmosphere. There’ll be an eight race program with the feature event being the $20,000 Australia Day Cup.

Enjoy an ice cold beer or Daiquiri at the Beach Bar, grab some prawns off the BBQ, with a side dressing of swimwear parades, live music and lots of fun things for the kids. Murray Bridge racecourse may be 50km from the beach, but that’s not stopping the club from putting on what could be the biggest beach party of the year! The race day is a celebration of our great Aussie lifestyle, and what better way to celebrate than having a race meeting at the beach.

It will be a fantastic place to be on Australia Day, and it’s an easy 45-minute drive down the freeway from Adelaide. Marquee and Hospitality Packages can be arranged at the club.

Then its off to Sturt reserve for the Murray Bridge Autofest, now in its second year this action packed three day event will be the largest modified car event in SA with over 16000 spectators in its first year that came to witness the car on display as well as seeing driving events such as the Go To Whoa, Dyno Challenge, Motokana and of coarse the Mighty Burnout Competition it is expected that this will rise to over 20000 in 2008.

Now if that’s not enough Saturday Night, it’s off to the Riverview Speedway for their night of non stop action. With action on the track from V8 Super Sedans and 360 Sprintcars. Also the production car based street stocks, V8 Trucks and also featuring the Riverview Sidecar Spectacular will see the night out with guaranteed action on and off the track. With a full programme tailored to compliment the horsepower weekend. Gates open at 5:30pm with track action from 7pm.

As a lead up to the Australia Day Weekend in Murray Bridge the Riverview Speedway will be running a Burnout Night on the 17th of November and winners of each category that have cars with current SA registration and that enter the Murray Bridge Autofest will automatically go through to the finals and will not have to qualify on the Saturday in January.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
