wow that went really smoothly,

i was secretly expecting delays and the like..

do you know if we got the orange or the black?

cheers

Karl

if you only knew what happened my end! some strongly worded but polite phone calls from me requesting updates, confirmation of fund transfer, shipment date - etc.

i've requested the black for everyone, if we get it then bonus - if not then it'll be the 'coby orange'. it just depends if they have any paint in stock.

i have called coby directly and asked them what paints they are using. they have told me that they ARE NOT using HIGH TEMPERATURE paint. the paint is merely for rust, storage and aesthetic reasons.

i personally advise everyone to strip the paint back and go over it with caliper/high temp spray cans or get them hp coated like i have. leaving the coby paint shouldn't do any harm either.

please be patient with christmas delivery. some of you guys might be lucky and get them early, some might get them in the new year.

regardless all buyers have always received them.

I wish i had mine today i was really hoping to get them :P . i really hope now there here wednesday beofre i go out of the counrty ;) so there black thats good to hear merry christmas everybody hope all goes well for everyone

hey got mine fitted today went on sweet took away alot of the rasp i used to get about 2500rpm-3000rpm.

just want to know hwat type of setup are people running on there car mine is just stock with the extractors my stock pipe is 2.5'' so i didnt have to change that

You will all have to tell me how your extractors go guys, mine are still sweet, glad i got HPC coating, just wondering i got a hi-flow cat on my system, do you think i would be losing any power considering its a 3" cat, he just downed it to my 2.5" system i got, would i have got any power increase at all?

Also gotta get it fixed, either the muffler or cat is rattling under there like a B&$%#. Does anyone notice a sucking noise from extractors, or air noise?

Also any difference in havin a resonator or muffler on your system, he put muffler on before the cannon, but last system i got on my old car he put a resonator, sorry im a noob

Anyone thinking of starting this group buy again? I need one :) its $345 to deliver without a group buy mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................
I'm in for sure if theres another group buy  , is there another group buy for these any time soon???
Yeah ill be in for another group buy?

PM me if we are starting again Eug

unfortunately there won't be another one without significant interest.

as much as i'd like to help you guys out again, i've run 4 of these buys already and each time it has been more money and effort on my part than anything. now that i'm an sauqld exec, moderator and in my final year of uni i have other obligations to fulfill.

if there are enough people to make it feasible then we shall see.

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
