Deluxe
Yeh my word, I'm happy as long as they do it for ownership checking, as long as we don't get canarys for it!!! I pulled onto Fullarton Rd off of Cross Rd yesterday to see a coppa pointing a speed gun at me, I looked down and i was doing 70, the cop didn't pull me over but was just telling me to slow it down a bit with a hand gesture! I waved back and all was good! Cheers fella!! MikeyGTRmike
last friday night me and three mates all in skylines were parked near a servo near lofty when a patty wagon drove past saw us did a u turn and pulled up behind us two cops got out and asked what we were doing. they then proceeded to tell us heaps of skylines are being stolen so becareful and then they took down our plates and told us to leave otherwise the next patrol car that saw us would defect us.... ya cant even stand near your car eating food without attracting attention these days. bezender
after the last cruise i went on (organised by sly-dn) i got followed for about 10 min too... the police were driving in an erratic manner, dropping back then accellerating hard to get right up behind me, then would pull up next to me aggressively, then fall back again. (they even pulled into a slip lane at a major intersection to turn right, but then pulled back in behind me) it occured to me that they were trying to make me panic and do something stupid (which you would assume that someone who stole a car would do). So i drove in the most leagally abiding way that my coilies allow and nothing became of it. Personally I applaud sapols efforts. There are strong demands on their attention in many areas. and its a good thing IMO that they are focusing on stolen imports (even though it brings a bit of unwanted attention ) anyway.. thats my 2c Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194204-police-pulling-over-skylines-to-check-for-stolen-parts/page/3/#findComment-3483098 Share on other sites

MikeyGTRmike
Im glad sapol are running our plates to check to make sure our cars aren't stolen it means they're trying to do something about this problem and not just ignoring it.... makes you feel a little safer with your pride and joy... and 99% of the police i've delt with just check my details and comment on my car then they leave, so not all police are out to get us but that said there is also a small group of hard assed cops who think we are trouble makers and deserve a hard time... On the most part, the attitude that you get from the police, is a reflection of your own. that being said, police are people too so it is safe to assume that there are a few ass hats amongst them that will cain u just cos they need a power trip. Idiot (maybe a bit harsh), Picture this scenario: Person parks their car in the morning and catches goes to work. Comes back 8hrs later to find no car. Car could have been driving around stolen for 8hrs and it wouldn't show up on the Police "big ass computer screens." Same thing if car is stolen in the middle of the night. Anyone on these boards awoken (in the morning) to find their car stolen during the night? Mayhem could have been committed during the night with your car and if Police only stopped cars if they were REPORTED as stolen, then half the stolen cars would not be chased, and sometimes caught... Use some common sense instead of whinging. Also, if you are driving your / any car on a road, you are obliged to state your name under the Road Traffic Act and the Summary Offences Act. Argue if you wish. One day you will find out the hard way...
